I joined this site about 10 months ago but have been away for some time. By April I got to under 150 after years being well above that weight. In other words, for me, this is featherweight!

While I have slagged off on my exercise reg I managed to keep under 150lbs and that is new for me as an adult: typically I would have put on weight but I think I battled enough with it since '07 (and had several battles before) that while I haven't stuck to the gym, I walked a lot, took the stairs and managed my diet so that I didn't gain.

I'm at 147 today and would like to lose 10-15lbs of fat/flab.

Not working out has caused me to get flabby and if anything that's my biggest motivator right now.

Hi everyone!
I'm 24, currently 147, and like a lot of people here, I'm a student who's let her health go a teensy bit in favor of studying, hahaha. My goal is 130, and I'd like to get there before next May, which is when I graduate and get my M.A.! I'm not a fan of pills or crash diets, so I'm trying to work towards my goal by simply living a healthier and more active lifestyle.
Nice to meet everyone!

Hello!
I'm 22 and a student! I'm 5'10" and I currently weigh 160 but I'm trying to get down to 146 eventually, although even getting to 153 would be great! because im so busy during the day in college i dont eat very much, but then i gorge when i get home, it's terrible!
Looking forward to losing these 14 pounds and best of luck to everyone!
(Ps If my choice of numbers sound random its because we don't use the metric system in Ireland, we go by stones and pounds! so I currently weigh 11 stone 6 pounds (160) and I would like to lose a stone (14 pounds) but half a stone is my mini goal!)

Hallelujah people who seem to understand exactly what I'm going through, yay!!! I'm not even sure exactly how much I weight right now...I figure I am about 10 to 12 pounds from what I weighed when I met my now husband and I am trying to get back to that place. I'm tiny so even a few pounds are very noticeable on me. I was about 95 two years ago (the lowest healthy weight for my height is 92). I think I'm at about 105 maybe a little more. I just started dieting about 2 weeks ago (calorie counting & light exercise) so far haven't noticed a thing. Bummer, but I hear it's really hard when you don't have much to lose! Anyway, just introducing myself I have been a lurker for quite awhile now

So....what DOES qualify you as a Featherweight? I originally was 370 and lost down to 145 but have gained to 196 but now have lost down to 185 (5'7") and am happy around 150ish. So I have 35 plus to lose...would that qualify?

Hi, My name is Lisa. I finally decided I needed to lose the rest of the weight I gained from my 20 month old twins, plus a few more I put on beforehand. Overall I want to lose about 20 lbs. I have done Weight Watchers in the past but I think this time I want to do calorie counting...I just need to figure out how many calories I can eat in a day!! I also started the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred today to jump start things! Looking forward to getting to know you guys!!

Lizzie, welcome, I don't think there are any "rules." You get to decide when it's a good fit for you. At some point, your outlook and challenges just change a bit from the earlier periods of your weightloss, and that's when it's time for Featherweights!

Welcome, Lisa

Lizzie and Lisa ....

Lizzie, there are no specific qualifications to be a Feather, it you are comfortable with us, then this is your niche... and again welcome...

Glad there is this community! I'm 5'1 and fluttering around 130 lbs. I'd like to lose 15-20 lbs that I seem to carry around my middle (the space between the bottom of my ribs and top of my hips measures 38 inches!). Being so short, every lb gained or lost is noticeable and carrying it all in the middle is not healthy (or attractive). I think the breads, pastas, pizzas, etc may be the culprit and decided South Beach may be the way to go!
