Ex2: Someone called me "thunder thights"
Going out with people who enjoyed knowing I was the fattest one in the group and I felt like I didn't count.
We were all helping each other get ready and borrowing each others clothes, and they chose for me a full-skirted dark gray dress so I would just fade into the background for them.
Other people's hurts will bring to my mind the things that happened to me. I forget stuff and need to be reminded.
A good helping of hurt/anger will keep me working hard on a diet.
More on other motivation factors tomorrow.

Oh, my gosh, I'm so sorry those things happened to you. That's horrible! I have been called "fat" to my face, and it's devastating, or can be.

Breathing problems when I exercise.
Other Motivations
Size 16's got to tight on me
Trouble getting off the couch or the floor
I'm weak all over, can't open bottles of water
Can't play simple games involving throwing (weak arms)
Can't stand with out shaking
Can't step up to reach things I get dizzy and afraid I will fall
Hun-OMG I missed your weight loss at an important number :encore :

You are so nice - thanks! Also nice is your willingness to share so honestly. That will really touch others, I think, who have one or more of the same issues. Sometimes I get the arm thing. I really have a fondness for my "sitting around time," and I think that affects my strength. I don't lift weights or anything, but probably should.

Major kudos, Eilidh!
Love trying on old clothes these days! I'm a bit of a cheapskate, so I'm having a hard time throwing them away, but am forcing myself. No more "just in case"!

New to this thread. I just re-started my Beck program and am right at that line between 130's and the 120's. This has always been a red-line battleground for me.
My first goal is to get to 125 and see if I can stay there awile. I'm doing calorie counting at 1200 cal/day. My "Weigh In" day is Saturday. I'm 57 years old and I know well how tough it is to keep my weight down, but 1200 cal will work every time if I stick with it.
Here's to sticking with it!

Thanks for the welcome. Today is only "Day Three" for me, but yesterday was my second day coming in at my daily calorie count.
I had to stop mid-day yesterday and strategize as to how I would get through ten more hours awake with only 610 calories left, but I made it with the help of some decaf coffee and a distracting book.
Hope everyone here has a great day!

Distraction is good! What food do you eat on a typical day (if you don't mind sharing)?

Welcome, and congrats on losing over twenty pounds! Twelve hundred calories a day is a tried-and-true method, so I know you'll have much success. Btw, what is the Beck program like?

Yesterday was like that for me, too. I have been telling myself just to not think about food too much until the weekend, when I have my up days.
But, hunger being what it is, that only worked for so long. So I've switched to thinking about, like you, how best to utilize the calories I have allotted for my down days.
Sooo...yesterday, I had a couple of broth-poached haddock filets, a giant mound of steamed broccoli with lemon, and a big bowl of frozen peaches for dinner and dessert. Delish! And very filling, which is a sticking point for me. I like to feel full. And I did!
