I haven't really lost any weight this week. I don't understand why... I've worked out 4 days and I've been eating 1400-1500 calories (with one day of ~2000). Maybe I need to eat less?

Edit: I only started exercising 2 weeks ago, so I'm hoping that has something to do with it too...

Hi, I'm new to the forum and really need the emotional support to lose my baby weight, plus some! I certainly don't get it at home :-( But my starting weight is 140.6 lbs and my long term goal is to lose 25 lbs! I know 140.6 is ALMOST out of the 140's, but I've been yo-yoing a lot between 139-142. So I really need an extra push to get into the 130's and STAY there!

So interesting... so on your fast days, do you eat nothing or ~500 calories? I do full-day fasts occasionally, which are almost the only thing I have found that can "reset" myself from binging. It is hard, but feels so good the next day. I always feel amazing when I wake up the next day, regardless of how starving I felt the night before. I eat nothing on these fast days - which would be ~36 hours, from dinner one night until breakfast two days later - but do have coffee/tea and that will include some almond milk so the total for the day would be 40 calories or less.

Thank you all for your inspiration!
We are similar stats! Let's kick the 140s butt . It takes me forever to get out of the 140s, as this is apparently my new set point (used to be 120, then 125, then 130 and so on... creeping up with age until I was hovering in the low 150s for most of this year). I did maintain 135 for some time not that long ago so that is my main goal. (First red-line goal: 139 ... super-longshot goal: 129.)

I am not familiar with the 17 day diet but I will look it up. When I am on plan, I am either on South Beach (but with lower carbs than they generally recommend) or I was trying Ideal Protein, which worked great until ...

quoting myself here... umm nope, didn't stick. I traveled to a conference, went off the rails due to poor planning and thinking I could "handle it"... now binging has returned and I am up to 145.0 today. ARGGGGG. Nearly SEVEN pounds more than I was earlier in September. Buckling down today and hopefully back on track tomorrow.

144.6. Amazing how quickly the weight can go UP and how slowly it goes DOWN...

Cactusgirly - that you are OUTTA here. I had my brief taste of the 130s last week and it was niiiiiiice

In 3 weeks I've lost like half a pound...I know it's better if the weight comes off slowly but I'm not happy with this rate. I'm lowering my intake to 1200 this week to see what happens.
Does anyone here weigh during TOM? Do you find that your weight goes up more in the days before (PMS) or during? I'm in the last couple of days so I feel like it shouldn't be affecting my weight anymore, but I'm not sure.

I think I need to rejoin this thread... 130's are just a dream now . I will weigh in tomorrow and report what the damage is... too many travels, too many snacks and too much chocolate!! -- I have not stepped on that scale in DAYS, too afraid. SNIFF! But I am re-committing to my weightloss journey as of today; hoping October will get me closer to 130!

9/29 138.9... don't know why I am superstitious about leaving this group until I am solidly in the 130's, weird right?

EmmaD... I am exactly the same as you, my "easy" weight has gradually climbed up the older I get. Sigh. Hang in there girl, we will make it to the smaller numbers!

Sum38... Like the Taylor Swift song goes, Shake It Off! Don't let a brief break from you diet take you down, you've got this!

I will say that both my husband and I are liking the results of the 17 Day Diet. We are about 2 weeks in, so still in the first 17 day cycle (there are 4). We did have a "cheat meal" this weekend for our son's birthday, which the plan does not endorse. Shockingly we both lost weight the next day. Hmmm... go figure.

Good Morning!

I haven't reported in a few weeks. I was in a business trip and just got back on Saturday morning. I haven't read much... but did want to say ^^ to what CactsGirly said to Sum38! Breaks are good for your body and if you gained any, I'm sure you can get back down again very quickly! Keep your chin up!

CactusGirly - glad the 17 day plan is working for you!! You're rocking it and already out of the 140's! You go girl!

Mongoose - I hate weighing during PMS... I'm always up AT LEAST 2 lbs! You're almost out of the 140's! YAY! Are you drinking plenty of water? I was horrible at it, but noticed that ever since I increased my water intake, I have been doing great and have seen more frequent loss!

As I said, I was gone last week on a business trip to San Diego. Ahh.. San Diego, so many yummy restaurants! It's such a foodie place, but I'm glad it sides more toward the healthier type foods! I stuck to my 16:8 plan, did an all day fast and even got three runs in! I was very proud of myself! I weighted myself after my run this morning and saw 145.7! YAY! Very excited

Next week I go on another business trip, this time to Chicago, ANOTHER FOODIE PLACE and my goal was to be 145 to have some wiggle room as I know I'll be over my calories most days? But now I want to be even lower before the trip... we'll see what I can accomplish by next Monday! I know this trip will be even harder because I'll be around co-workers and customers which "can" equal to food and drinks! As long as I can keep my 16:8 and get a couple of runs in, I'll be a happy camper

Have a great week! BBL to check-in!

Thanks ladies for the encouragement. It is so hard to admit defeat!! My brain wants to think I am still 135 pounds, but scale shows the ugly truth of 147.8 pounds. -- What I feel "good" about, I cut this cycle at 148 pounds, I did not balloon all the way to 175 which I usually do when I let things slip! So to weightloss!

nayla
Have fun in Chicago!! Love that city! My DH used to work there and kiddies and I spent a lot of time there...now that they are all off to college (yeah my baby just left ), I think hubby and I will start taking adult trips over there since it is an easy plane ride away from MI. -- Indulge a bit, but be mindful! Eat what you absolutely want and enjoy every bite, skip the ones that are just "meh". Make every choice a worth while choice.

CactusGirly I know how you feel....and once I left, when I gained this weight back, I did not have the courage nor will power to come back. -- Not saying that it will happen to you!!! You will do great!! You will leave us and never look back Maybe post in both places for awhile and see where it feels more like home?

Way to go nayla! It is finally starting to cool off where I live (AZ) so I can start running again. I take the summer off every year and then pay for it in the fall when I have to start from scratch. It's such an efficient workout though, and great stress relief!

Sum38, thanks for the encouragement and the invite to keep posting here for a while.

138.9 again today
