Hello feather crew!
I'm a long-time poster returning after about a year hiatus.
In the last few months, I went through the end of a nasty relationship and saw 139 for about five minutes (the only upside). Am now hovering around 143-145. Would love to get back into the 130s under normal (healthy) circumstances.

Hope everyone's having smashing weekends!

~Alexis

Hi, Alexis! Sorry you went through a stressful time. Now is a good time to focus on doing something healthy for yourself!

I was able to step up the exercise to normal levels yesterday. The scale was down to 139.2 this morning! I round up so I won't be officially in the 130s until I'm weighing reliably below 139.0.

Thanks, Alexis. I may be here longer than you'd think. My weight is moving very slowly, two steps forward, 1.5 back, but the trend is down. That's fine with me, though, since I'm already eating the way I intend to maintain. After many trips on the weight roller coaster, I hope I've finally found a maintenance style that I can stick with.

Speaking of steps back, I'm up to 140.4 this AM, probably the result of Father's Day dinner & dessert. Turns out I will also be eating out tonight, so it will take a while for me to whittle back down. But thats OK; I'm not in a rush at this point.

Yoyoma Not too bad for eating out, though!

Uck! I was back up to 145 this morning. *sigh* Staying focused on the goal! Keep moving in the right direction.

Hello everyone

Alexistrophic - Hi and welcome back! I think I remember seeing your name somewhere.... Don't worry, you have the right mindset, just stay focused!

yoyoma - I think you're doing really well! You ate out and still managed to stay in the low 140s

-

Speaking of...I was back up to 141.4lbs this AM due to my uncontrollable eating fest this weekend. I was doing really well at first. We went to the grocery store to pick up the ingredients for the carrot cake I was going to make. Usually I would have picked up other things like ice cream and chocolate but this time I didn't. That was a big deal to me. I made the cake using whole-grain flour and I cut the amount of oil in half. Also, I froze half of the cake, so I had 1/2 on Saturday and I was fine. I could've ended that day at maintenance calories of 2200 but then I got so excited around midnight about watching a movie with DH and we were being all silly and whatnot that I went into the kitchen and made jelly and honey toast. Lots of them.
Then on Sunday I ate my usual healthy breakfast and we planned on going to the gym. However, we got into a little argument and ended up missing the bus. We had been invited to a family barbecue at my sister's at 5pm so we didn't make it to the gym anymore and instead, I ate more toast plus the other half of the carrot cake. Double ugh. What's so frustrating is that I weighed-in at 139.2 lbs on Saturday morning, I was so excited!!
This upcoming Saturday we'll be going to a USA-festival. It's gonna be another splurge day but again, I am going to try to not give in and keep my calories below maintenance.

hoopty ~ Thanks for the welcome. Glad to be back. Fluctuating less than 3 lbs isn't too bad at all for maintenance eating!

~~~
Grrrr.... Still at 145. Also think that I'm pms-ing... Not fun. Trying to stay focused, even though I'm not feeling the best. Did a pilates dvd last night and making an effort to be moderate today.
Have a retreat at the shore in less than 2 weeks, so would like to be looking my best for that. Am also hoping that plans for a good weekend with a friend and her guy friend turn out this week...
Hoopty, sorry the weekend didn't work out as well food-wise as you planned, but the important thing is that you're making adjustments to fix it for the next time. You've got a plan for the cake. Can you figure out how to deal with the toast?
Alexis, sorry to hear you're not feeling well. If you're PMS'ing it's no wonder the scale is stuck. Hopefully you'll feel better and see a little whoosh soon!
Last night we ate out at a favorite place of mine. My meal was obnoxiously healthy-sounding (broiled rainbow trout with black beans and Cesar salad) but those truly were what I wanted to order. The place we went charges half price for food on weeknights if each person pays at least $3 for drinks, so DH and I split a half-pitcher of sangria. After, we walked around (a lot!) and I indulged in a (food porn omitted) for dessert.
I don't know if it was all the walking or just a digestive track dice roll, but this morning, I was down to 139.6
Checking back in after some time away on vacation. Still hovering at 145.2 right now, but I'm taking up a yoga class starting today, may jump back on the exercise bike.
yoyoma ~ That obnoxiously healthy meal sounds ridiculously delicious. And wooo hooo for you being able to indulge in *food porn* and still waking up under 140. *looks wistfully* One day...
underanalysis Welcome!!! Good for you for getting back into it.
~~~
Feeling calmer about food in general. Just making the commitment to buckle down. Nighttime is the hardest for me... I don't "overeat" but sometimes I have a bit more peripheral foodstuff (coffee creamer, etc.) than is strictly necessary.

Doing a 10 minute Pilates burn DVD then just getting my butt into bed.

Hoping for happy numbers tomorrow!

Hello, I've been taking a summer class working toward my Masters degree. So I am having a hard time juggling everything. I am 147 which is where I seem to be stuck. I am exercising a lot still but just maintaining. When my class is up in a month I will make a massive push to get to goal. I was worried if have to have abdominal surgery and with classes and work I am just glad I am where I am! I have gone back to intermittent fasting eating from 12-8 daily so maybe that will help me maintain. Hope everyone has had a good week so far.

Congrats, Hoopty!

I stepped on the scale this morning at 144.5. I expect it to fluctuate back up a bit as I wasn't feeling well this morning, but I think this indicates a downward trend.

Weather is nice this week, so I've been walking to work instead of driving.

Hi, can I join in here?

I've always been somewhere between 140 and 149 up until I had my baby last year. After she was born while breastfeeding I went up to 160lbs. I'm still breastfeeding but I feel like my hormones are settled now and I'm settling into a healthy eating diet, mostly home cooked foods and no junk.

My lightest weight ever was 134 and I felt good there but I'm only 5'2 and wanted to be a little lighter, ideally I'd like to be in the 120's.

Currently I'm 149 so I've lost 11 pounds.
