MaddieB: Not a twig...skinny fat! I look great in clothes but not so much in a bathing suit! I carry tons of belly fat (typical apple shape). I will brave a pic one of these days. My best advice to you and anyone trying to lose weight and tone up...LIFT HEAVY WEIGHTS! I wish someone would have told me that way earlier. I've wasted a lot of time at bootcamps and pilates (which I love so not really a waste), but it did not help me get the look I've been after. I've noticed more change in body in 5 weeks of a lifting program than 5 yrs of other stuff! I'm doing a body recomposition...my goal is to lose body fat and not too much more weight. I cannot support the look I want with my little muscle, but I still have to eat a deficit to lose fat!
I tried on a bikini yesterday and it was not pretty. I looks great with clothes on, a nice pair of jeans and I am good. I have been lifting and doing kettle bell squats but not diligently because the shred is killing me. Your post reminded me to get back to it.

3/1: 145.8

3/3: 146.8 (again! whatev...)

3/5: 146.8 (ha, knew I'd have a water weight whoosh)
3/6: 145.6

Yes, another whoosh, but again, all water, I think! It's going to be depressing if I don't hit below 145 tomorrow. Last week on Thursday I hit just at 145 which was my low for that week. If I hit above it or even just at it, means I didn't lose anything this week. My weight today would have been less, I think, if I'd had a poop!

Go you, Jossfit! You had another whoosh!

LOL I don't consider that a whoosh at all... to me a whoosh is like at least a pound, but usually more. (Oh, and I mean mine, not yours! ) I feel the same way that you do; "Am not impressed unless there's an actual loss between my low number from last week (145) and tomorrow." For me, I won't feel like I'm making any progress until I'm at least down to 125.4 since thats where I was last week.

Congrats on yours though!

Maybe I shouldn't check anymore. I've gone to the gym almost every day. My calorie count is sitting around 1300 so I'm, mathematically, burning excess calories every day. Even my mile time dropped from 11:16 to 10:52 last night. And yet I can't stay at 134 let alone go lower.

Between that and feeling miserable, I feel near tears.

lovedancelive: Maybe it's time to change something up! Cycle your calories for a few days & see if that helps. See if going up 100 calories changes things for like 3 days, & if not, go down to 1200-1250 & see. This whole process is frustrating. But you're doing what is good & healthy for your body. Try to remember that when you're feeling disappointed by the scale. We're all cheering you on!

lovedancelive - What do you mean by "feeling miserable"? Are you sick? Being ill can cause a host of issues with retaining water if thats the case. Also working out does stress your body so you'll likely be hanging on to water in that case as well.

If you don't see a drop soon, and you are mathemetically sticking to your deficit, I second what Maddie said; change up your workout, change your calories for a couple of days... something will give eventually.

How do you not know the "Martin" reference?! For shame! Daaaayyyum Gina! LOL

haha, I don't think I did any work per say, but thank you. Hopefully it keeps moving down. You on the other hand had a VERY nice last couple of days! Go you!
