128.5 again today, despite eating ice cream, peanut butter, pepperoncinis, and whipped cream after dinner. That snack attack aside, it felt fairly easy to stay at a deficit with lots of protein.
Tonight is the "Cheeseburger Picnic" preluding Trailer Park Boys Live. I will not have more than two cheeseburgers. I do not need more than two cheeseburgers.

It's amazing how one little change made such a big deal in how I felt. I feel so much better with just a wrap or flatbread in the middle of the day instead of just the meat and veggies on my plate. I don't feel the need to eat as much and I don't feel tired in the middle of the day. Amazing.
It's so strange, really. But I know my body is strange and doesn't respond to things the way others do.
Also AVENGERS TOMORROW. I am so psyched for that movie!! The fiance and I have been watching the previous Marvel movies—we watched Thor and Captain America on Sunday—and we're going to hit Iron Man and Iron Man 2 today. Not sure if I have The Hulk handy, but I didn't care much for that one anyway.
TBH, one BIG reason I'm seeing the movie for the collection of hot men My mom pretty much said the same thing (she is going with my Dad tomorrow). She said "I'm just going to see that movie because of Robert Downey Jr."
Krampus - Yay for hitting and keeping that low!!
I can't really do low carb for too long. I tried it for a long time and the carb flu just didn't go away like most people say it should.
I heard about the abusive special ed teacher. It almost made me cry (Special Ed is what I teach) I know how frustrating it can be, but I cannot imagine resorting to something like that at all.
crazygurl61 - I calorie counted while I went Primal, and I'm finding that when I added grains back in on the weekends that I didn't suffer from anything like a lot of others do. I had a flatbread toasted sandwich yesterday and I felt BETTER. I'm weird. I know this from the way certain foods have an effect on me so I'm going to go back to calorie counting. I'm not going to have a free for all with bread or anything (never really ate it much when I was just cc anyway).
TurboMammoth - Let other people think you're a creep! You'll be a fit creep!

Hey Everyone,
Thanks for the warm welcome! Super excited to say I weighed myself this morning and I'm down to 140.9! woo-hoo! I suspect a lot of that is water loss as I went back to Bikram for the first time last night since changing my diet. Felt on top of the world for the first half of the class and then struggled through the rest. Think I need more calories on days I head there.
I'm sitting here eating lunch and pulled out a business magazine. Who knew an article I'm reading about revitalizing businesses would ring so true for weight loss! From Build magazine's "The Power of Small Things" "Big [change] is fine. Big is what things amount to. But small? The repeatable, testable, alterable, doable steps toward big? Small deserves more respect. Small is the smartest path to different." Helped remind me as I ate that it's about slow, steady, smart choices that will (eventually) add up to the 20+ pounds I'm looking to lose.
Side note I keep thinking it's Friday and getting really disappointed! I just want it to be the weekend!

Morning everyone! Despite my injury, I had a really fun birthday and finally found a Michael kors watch i love at a price I can pay after visiting many tj Maxx/ Ross over the past few months. It was a great thing to happen on my birthday.
i'm trying 17 day diet and I miss simple carbs! However it's been good since I can't work out due to my injury and also it's a challenge: can I go a whole day without crackers, cookies, chocolate or chips?
I've decided that I will 17 day diet mon and wednesday and on the other days and the weekends i will count calories for my sanity and for my social life. I'm already back down to 135 after lots of birthday feasting and I feel good.
This Saturday is olive garden with my family for my birthday. I've been craving it for a year now and wanted to go. It's hard letting myself eat, but I think it's better for the long run

sontaikle : I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT THE AVENGERS! But I'll have to wait until next week to see it, my boyfriend is going away for 6 days and I can't go without him
Dottie : I KEEP thinking it'S friday too since this morning. It is annoying. way to get your bubble bursted every now and then that you realized ''dam*, not friday yet''
jayo : I'm happy that you had a nice birthday despite the injury. And Olive Garden, yummyyy!

I'm up a pound, but still under 130! I went to the cheeseburger picnic saying I would only have 2 cheeseburgers, but I had 3 (the third didn't have a bun)...and a bunch of grilled starchy veggies...and Skittles at the show...and a little ice cream before bed. All in all, I feel a little gross physically, so today I'll shoot for lighter eating. Have a big hike planned this weekend which will be fun. Still haven't pooped since Sunday...hoping this coffee will fix that!
Today my mom and I are getting fitted for our dresses from that contest a couple weeks back. I'm sitting at work comfortably in my blue size 4 pants, with a pretty awesome lunch packed (Greek yogurt, chicken salad with gorgonzola and red pepper on a WHOLE BAG of spring mix, blackberries). I feel like I've made considerable progress in (A) not going INSANE on a dieting severely-binging severely pendulum of fail and (B) detaching my eating from my emotions and self-esteem. I'm sure everyone has these "revelations" as they lose weight and get in shape though :P
TurboMammoth Dang straight it's gotta be water weight! You're doing great, don't worry about TOM bloat.
jayohwhy Your dedication to getting the last few pounds off is truly admirable. I agree that letting yourself eat is healthier in the long run - if you've been postponing your craving for an entire year, I think it's safe to say you "earned" it.
DottieMae The small-steps approach is a very good one toward losing weight - the whole endeavour feels much more manageable when you break it down into steps. I learned a lot about personal savings and investing via the "baby steps" method, and I managed to save plenty making $12 an hour for not even full-time hours! How is Bikram? I'm curious but fairly certain I would puke or fall asleep.
sontaikle It really is sick how people can be so cruel to special needs kids. I'm glad you are feeling more human with more carbs, enjoy Robert Downey Jr. (meeeooowww)!!! And may the Fourth be with you (Star Wars joke...harharhar).

turbo- it's totally water weight! i always think that a string of good calorie days always seems to take at least a couple days to register on the scale!
krampus- i'm glad that you had a great time! i love cheeseburgers! well, really i love cheese more, but the burger part just makes it better. it's great that you are learning more things about living healthy and about yourself.
___________________________
so here we are. this week i learned that i can't give up carbs for too long. after the second day, everyone started looking like a big potato chip to me, thus mondays and wednesdays will be no carb and the rest of the days will be counting calories to maintain my 135 figure.
i know i keep on saying the same things over and over again but i really need to work on my body image and loving my body at it's new healthy weight instead of the mindset that i have to be as skinny as can be. Also, i need to find out how to not just be "on" or "off", rather than either always losing weight or gaining weight, i'd like to find a way to maintain my weight...

krampus : you still manage to just eat a little pourcentage of what I would have eat if I attented a show like that! LOL And yay for revelations times! I think it's important in the process, but everyone time I hear myself talk like that, I always think I sounds like a guru thingy LOL
jayo : you said you are always saying the same thing about working on your body image : there is nothing wrong with it! I think it's actually the main issue with Featherweight people : we don't see ourselves how we actually look like I think... it's a perpetual work in progress. You did so so so much, going from 222 to 135... I think you can be so proud of yourself and just enjoy your new life casually for a while
***
Well, after freaking out with the 137.6 lbs yesterday, I was at 135 lbs this morning. I guess I pooped and pied my life away yesterday to drop 2.6 lbs like that. Freaking water weight! I was so astonished, I went on the scale 3 times and I was just like ''well. okay.''
Now that I'm around my new goal, I guess I don't have any choices now then to start weight training to tone this up... I'm gonna diiiiiiiiiiiiiie

Hi Everyone!!! It's the weekend! Yay! I'm exhausted! My husband works for Dinsey and was out late at the avengers premiere then woke me up when we got home so I didn't get a chance to get a full night of uninterrupted sleep.grr!
I'm gearing up for a challenging weekend eating wise. I am meeting my mom in a few hours at the mall for a snack/chat date. I've already decided I am going to just have an unsweetened iced tea and enjoy the company instead of calories. Then I need to shop for a baptism, wedding, and an engagement party gift. Tonight I'm going out to dinner with my husband. I've saved 650 calories in my daily budget so I am hoping for a light entree and one glass of some sort of alcohol.
Tomorrow I have a band rehearsal, am teaching a music lesson and then I have my friend's wedding in the afternoon and evening. I am planning to eat a light protein filled breakfast and lunch as well as a healthy dinner at the wedding, leaving room for a glass or two of wine/alchohol. No wedding cake- since I'm gluten free. Hopefully I'll also be able to dance the night away and burn some extra calories!
But can't stay out too late..because....Sunday is an early morning baptism, and then singing with my church band, followed by an afternoon luncheon. Then I need to get my butt home and make sure I do the grocery shopping and all those things...because I'll be gone in Anaheim Wed-Sat at a convention...I am looking forward to staying in the Disney Hotel! Then next weekend is the engagement party for my friend AND Mother's Day brunch. AhHH!
I am going to concentrate on making sure I am aware of what I eat this weekend. I plan to be a social butterfly and enjoy myself instead of standing in the corner stuffing my face.
Krampus- look at you! Size 4 pants, 3 cheeseburgers, and still in the 120's! You are doing great. I do think your revelations mark the difference between a "fad diet" and a lifestyle change. You are on the right path!
Jayo- what's the 17 day diet? I think your plan sounds like something I'd like to transition to when I hit the 120's. Until then, no bread, flour, rice, pasta, potatoes or anything like that for me. I just dont trust myself!
Sontaikle- that is interesting, I am still too afraid to trust myself with bread. Maybe one day....
Turbo- isn't water weight crazy!!!! I'm always amazed at my daily fluctuations and stuff!
Dottie-you can do it! Love your attitude.
Philana- where are you girl? TOM got you down? We miss you!!!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Hihi! Actually, YES. I got annoyed with my TOM-gain and then I ate a bit more than I wanted to and I got stomach-bug or something. Oh and had 2 supersuper busy days. So all in all not a great week.
I'll do personals later. Just waving and doing a little dance because after the lousy eating no exercise 4days I just ran 10k. Love it. Wanna do 12,5k next weekend for sure.

Personals later, I want to devote the proper time to all of your life updates
OMG ladies. I am going to a buffet later with my family. I haven't been to a buffet in over a year!!
...but I'm not worried. I already have a plan and I'm going to stick to it!
...to be honest the plan really mostly involves me eating massive amounts of crab legs and not eating much before we go!! Lol!!

Ugh up to 138.6, but proud of myself for staying on plan and dancing all night. I'm pretty sure it's water weight from the booze and soreness.

Omg I am so proud of myself!!
At the buffet I just ate seafood, meat, soup, and fruit. I had somewhere around 1400 calories which put me at 2000ish for the day, still under the 2300-2500 I try to eat on workout days so there is room for calculation error.
I wasn't even tempted by the stuff I used to love...I was totally enjoying the crab legs and salmon too much to notice that I wasn't eating some of the higher calorie stuff.
