Default Ok, Fess up! Who shops in the little girl's department?

It's quite a shock moving from the plus size department down to little girls haha. I never thought I'd fit into 'normal' woman's clothing!

But, seriously... So. Much. Cheaper and adjustable waist shorts rock my world .

My mother just laughs at me...

I know I'm not the only mom poking around the girls section .

I sometimes get things from the juniors dept., but not the actual "little girls" area. I got hips those 11-year-olds don't have!

I've still got a shirt from when I was 10-12 (yikes) that fits, it's a girls plus size, maybe size 12-14 or so. I never even considered looking in the girls section for more stuff, but I bet I could fit into some of it!

I have shopped in the boys section for gym clothes. Also for long underwear/thermal stuff for hunting because they'll make quality stuff for little boys but not for women (I'll spare you the rest of my rant).

I do buy a lot of stuff in Juniors because they tend to be narrower in the hip area, which works for my complete lack of waist and hips. =P

I do 99% of my shopping in the children's department. I say children's and not girl's because I shop in the boy's department as well. I buy most of my jeans in the girl's department and most of my shirts in the boy's department. I buy underwear and bras in the girls department, shoes and socks in the boys. Oh and I buy my winter jackets in the boy's department.

The clothes fit, the price is right and as long as I avoid anything too cutesy nobody knows I'm wearing children's clothes unless I tell them.

I always wear children's socks, though usually boys' socks as they're more appealing than the horrible pink things they aim at girls. I'm UK size 3, which is where adult shoes start but still within the children's sock size of 12 1/2 - 3 1/2.

That's it, though, I'm far too curvy for children's clothing, and right now not remotely thin enough anyway.

I go into the junior dept, but as a 41 year old, I have to make sure I'm not buying clothes too young. What I don't understand, since I'm 5'10", why aren't the women's dept pants ever long enough but the juniors rock in length???

Also, I buy from Abercrombie and Hollister, too. Smaller, cuter cuts than the ole lady store.

I buy from the juniors department sometimes, in particular at Target, but I'm already feeling like some of the styles are inappropriate and I'm only 25 haha! I'd buy more from places like Aeropostale and American Eagle if their clothes didn't fall apart after one season. I usually just stick to H&M, and Charlotte Russe has nice casual styles that aren't too young for my age.

My problem is that juniors sizes often aren't curvy enough, but womens/petites are too curvy :[

I've noticed the same thing! In my case, I have to wear "short" length pants in juniors but normal length in misses. Maybe it's based on the fact that juniors are skinnier on average (so the same waist size would need longer legs).

I used to shop in the little girls dept in Target all the time. You're right! Talk about saving some loot! I've even bought a bikini there. It was years ago though. I think I'm too big now? I shopped there when I was around 100#s.

When I was in college and up until I was pregnant, I shopped the little girls' section all the time! I even have Limited Too clothing with tags on them, waiting for me. I'm petite, and at 112lbs, I was in a size 12 in girls.

I'm hoping to one day get back to saving that money!

Never the little girl's department, but the Transformer's shirt in my avatar is a Large little boy's shirt from Wal-Mart.

I love the girls' section at Target! Just bought myself a pair of Mossimo shorts last week that were simply sized xs, s, m, L and XL (I got an L), and LOVE that it has an adjustable waist!!!! Plus they were only $12 =)
