He says to do at least 2 workouts a week, 3 is better, but no more than 3 (lifting days). You can do more cardio or whatever on off days, but it's really not emphasized. No more than 3 lifting days because your body needs time to recover. I am only getting in a lifting day every 5 days or so because I'm just so sore, and I'm still seeing results like this. I would love to do more but am just not able to due to the soreness. I do other exercises, like walking, biking & yoga--nothing too high in cardio because I just hate it.

I was working out before 4-6 days a week. I was running intervals, circuit training classes, kick boxing class, ab class, swimming laps, spin class, some free weights, but it still kicks my butt this much! It really does take only 20-30 minutes. It doesn't feel too bad while you're doing it either, they're so simple but work out your whole body

That's great pinkflower - I might order the book.

I really need exercises that don't take a ton of time - that's why I took up running last year. I feel like running and weights give you the most "bang for your buck" so to speak. But that said, yoga in my favorite even though the classes are 90 minutes and I have to show up 15 minutes before to set up so it takes a good 2- 2 1/2 hours of time to get a class in.

I started back up with running yesterday. I was running pretty regularly from last March up until about August and which point I got frusterated with the constant hunger and zero weight loss. I did 2 miles at lunch yesterday and am going to try again today for 2 miles and then hopefully work back up to longer distances 2-3 times per week.

I was at 141.8 today, my second day with a 141 reading, so I changed my ticker.

Im running late this morning, but I'm so excited, I had to post before I left. I re-read all the posts in here later.

Wow pinkflower congrats!

I was 141.3 today...still at 141, but towards the lower end. I am going to cut back on my calories a bit this week and see if I can get the scale to MOVE!!!! I am also thankful to still be at 141, when I didn't exactly stay on plan all last week.

I'm so excited that I found this thread! I've been stuck at 140 for weeks now! I started off at 151 and I mainly lost the first 5lbs by working out, then the next 5 by restricting calories, and now, I'm trying to do both at the same time! When I restricted calories, I was just too tired/cranky to work out. But now, I'm starting to watch what I eat, take wellbutrin (hope the side effect of weight loss effects me) and work out at least 5 times a week.

It's great to read about everyone else's struggle! Reading everyone's posts, it really does sound like everyone will break out of the 40's soon!

Welcome AKim!

I weighed in at 140.6 this morning...some of this may have been water weight as I woke up to pee last night quite a few times (tmi?) but all the other times this has happened and i was excited to see the scale move, it didn't. So i sort of feel like it counts.

Another stuck gal here! Scale seems to be stuck at 145 for about 3 weeks now for me. Sometimes it goes down to 143.8 but then right back up to 145 when i wake up! I keep wondering if what I'm seeing is the "your metabolism slows down as you get older." I've been trying for a month now to be conscious about eating right and going to the gym regularly. But in reality I probably haven't been as good as I could be sneaking in bites (ie a sliver of the donuts at work) and chowing on thanksgiving leftovers (we hosted this year). I don't think I've been exerting myself as much as I could at the gym either on the arc trainers and ellipticals.

Back at the end of October, I wanted to get to goal by Christmas as we are going to Cabo then and that means swimsuit . However I hurt my knee right around then so that set me back about 3 weeks into November and at this point I will be happy if I can break out of the 140s by the trip. In an effort to up my cardio, I did a run/walk routine for the first time in over 8 months yesterday on the treadmill and it looks like I will be running more to hopefully make the scale MOVE!

Welcome Orthodiva!!!

Cabo for Christmas sounds great! Sure you will have a great time even if you are still a few lbs from your goal. Hope the scale starts moving for you though!!

140.8 again this morning...going to change my ticker. I might be out of the 140's by Christmas if I am lucky. lol, slow losing is better than gaining or no loss.

Wildflower, you are so close! I bet you will get out of the 140s well before christmas.

I am hoping to get out of the 140s by the 15th, so I'm trying to shake things up-- I'm trying IF for a few weeks. So far, it hasn't been too challenging. Also, I'm trying to work out at least 5 times a week. I've had the worst time sleeping--- so i have no motivation to work out.

I hope so Akim! I was 140.X for the third day in a row this morning, so hopefully within the next few weeks I will be out of the 140's.

I've been sick with a cold the past week, so it's probably helping that I have little appetite. :P

I have a dial scale, but today, it looked like it was so close to being under 140. Fingers crossed! I haven't worked out in the last two days because of being so tired from not being able to sleep at night... and then falling asleep when I'm supposed to be working out!

That's awesome Akim!

I'm still sick with a bad cold and dieting isn't really on my mind. I've been drinking lots of sugary drinks (chai, chocolate soymilk) but not eating much else so hopefully I am staying under 1500 and don't gain. I can't believe I've been sick for almost 2 weeks with this. Arrgh. So frustrating!!!i I didn't weigh this morning as the cold medicine seems to be making me retain water (ring is very tight) and while at 140 for 4 days, yesterday I was at 142! I kind of expected it, because I drank an absolute ton of liquids during the day and didn't even have to pee at all.

I hate being sick.

wildflower- I hope you feel better soon. It's such a horrible feeling, to be bloated, and on top of that being stuck with a cold is just terrible.

Thanks Akim! I'm feeling better but still very stuffed up...can't see myself getting back to the gym for another few days or until next week.
