stella and ms perception, yaaaayyy for dropping that water weight!! that is good news, i guess the scale must ultimately cooperate

Susan, primal eating is interesting! I like the concept, it speaks to me. However, I tend to go crazy with cravings when I "deprive" myself--that is to say, when I'm following a specific plan that outlines what I can and can't eat--so I'm not sure if it would actually work in practice for me. But interesting nonetheless.

danni i love that you're loving your current low number!! we must be good to ourselves, and I will try to take my cue from you. I loooove that my current number is much lower than the number at which I started! thanks

tkm SO CLOSE to your goal!!

I'm down to 156, but woke up super thirsty and suuuper sore from monday's workout (still). Drinking lots of water and doing some cardio today, and hoping to see another drop friday!

Shasha ... One of my worries is crunchy carb snacks. I do understand and appreciate the satiety value of protein and some good fats. I'm all in with combining vegetable carbs and protein. However ... sometimes I just want a crunchy carb snack.
The author does talk about the 80% rule (or is it 90%) so I suppose ... and there isn't really anything wrong with me that I'm trying to cure .... We'll see, I guess.

I'm having one of those skin not catching up to my fatloss days. I have this loose little roll above my c-section scar that's kinda humourous looking. Not very funny and I wouldn't mind if it disappeared soon. Oddly encouraging.

Awwww, sorry Ms Perception Stupid Girl Scout cookies! I'm lucky I prefer chewy cookies as those things are EVERYWHERE right now.

I picked up a few boxes of GS cookies for my family outside a grocery store, and was told if I got 2 more I would qualify for a drawing to win a YEAR'S SUPPLY! My family inhales them so I knew a would be okay with a few boxes, but with a year's supply, I would definitely gain all my weight back and then some. I'm sure my eyes bugged out as I shook my head and told the lady that would be a BAD thing. She chuckled and agreed with me.

Yesterday I kept wanting to eat - but I stayed on plan.
I have noticed that when I feel like that - the scale is getting ready to move down because I am losing and the body is trying to protect itself by telling me to eat.

Sure enough this morning my new number is 128.
I think I bought a scale that only moves 1/2 pound at a time. LOL

But that 1/2 pound at a time is a good thing - slow and easy does it.

Don't you love to see those new numbers on the scale? But then I always have that moment of panic. I worked so hard to get there --- now I have to work hard to make it stay and not go back up.

OH YES, now I remember - that's why we call it a lifestyle not a diet.

I hadn't thought of that before - probably because I used to give in so the scale didn't move for me. Thanks for the encouragement to stay OP on those "I just want to keep eating" days.

I like that way of looking at it, too!

I'm having another water weight day, I guess. Stayed on plan and back up a pound. Oh, well. Keep chugging away.

danni: my scale goes by half-pound leaps, too. I'm 128.0 today, like yesterday, and I'm pretty sure I'll be staring at that number for another week until it suddenly goes: "Oh, you've been changing. Guess I actually have to measure you now. Um...127.6!" I swear my scale is sentient and lazy

Does anyone else find themselves moving their scale around on the floor hoping for a better number? I swear there's 1/2 lb. difference between the "high spot" and the "low spot."

Maybe this means I need a REAL hobby???

How about when you step on the digital scale and it takes a while to make up its mind? Sometimes mine jumps around 2-3 pounds before it settles.

Occasionally it even shows a flash of REALLY low weight--perhaps a ghost of weight past! It's exciting, for a split second.

haha this morning's scale conversation made me laugh! my scale must be lazy too!! when i get on the scale i imagine seeing a crazy high number so that whatever I do see isn't all that bad. and then i get off immediately!

danni- i LOVE that idea... i'm hungry because my body is trying to protect its fat layer! HAHA that's going to be my motivation from now on!

I went crazy yesterday. didn't count calories AND had 4 beers (although if i count them up now I was around 1600 even w the beers, which is good bc I was sort of paying attention to what I was eating, just not counting specifically). I don't know why I did that! Just felt like it. back OP today

OMG both these comments made me laugh!! The first comment reminded me of the Biggest Loser and the second one reminded me of ME!! My scale does the same, too funny...

Hi girls, I've been good, just no time to post it seems... The scale, when if feels like it, is going down, about a pound a month
