Hi Tanee and Size8, congrats to both of you for where you are now.
You're both almost there and that must feel pretty good.
I play hockey tonight and I'm hoping I feel a bit better than I did 2 weeks ago. I have been eating much better but still very little for exercise so I'm not sure if I'll notice the improvement. The exercise thing is the hardest. Hockey is great but it's only once a week and that's not going to do it. I have 4 young kids, so finding time to go to the gym is tough. Hockey is at 10 pm so it works. I am going to start back to the gym soon. The family is just settling in with school, sports, etc. and once we are comfortable with the schedules I'll be able to fit it in.
Good luck to all of you.
Mickey
I was hoping to find some folks in the same boat as me! I've just spent about a year maintaining my weight (while trying to lose!). I wasn't logging in that time, and I hope that's the main reason I wasn't losing.
I've started logging again, cut out a few extras, and stepped up the exercise. I am ready to kick butt again and finally take off these last ten!
Sorry gals and guys..... I started the thread and I thought it was another dead thread by me....... so I have not seen it until today when I could not sleep.
I am in........ definitely! The group buddy thing sounds awesome. Mickmo.... of course men are welcome...... we all have a common goal.
I want to point you in the direction of another thread on 3fc. I don't know the name of the actual thread but it is cfmomma's goal story. She hit 150 pounds lost in a year. I read it yesterday and that is part of the reason I cannot get back to sleep....... she pretty much says we have to be accountble for what WE eat and if we really want it..... we have to do what works for us. For her..... it was cutting the "crap" all the way around. Out of her diet and pretty much her life (hope she does not mind the paraphrasing). No matter how heavy you are (cause some people say heavier people lose quickly--- and that is the reason some of us can drop so much so quick) it takes HARD work.
So, my point after that jumbled up ramble is...... I am tired of exercising my butt off just to burn the sugar I ate for the day. I want to burn these last pounds and I am GOING to do it. I won't make my "1 year goal", but I am in a heck of a lot better shape than I was this time last year! What I am going to do is the best I can-- I would love to be done by the year and then going into maintenence...... but as long as I am real with myself and cutting out the "junk" in my diet..... I will be much better off. I would love for my DH to join me...... but I have to move on with this WL journey for ME!
I look forward to us being a tight group of losers!
I am sure everyone else here has the same story, but the last pounds are *so* much more difficult to lose than the first pounds. We can do it, but we really have to knuckle down to it.
I ended up coasting for a year in a small weight range. That in itself was new for me -- practice maintenance. Unfortunately, I was trying to lose, not maintain. But now I know what I have to do.
For myself, I know it's not enough to eat well and do a little exercise. I have to account for all calories and make exercise work for me. AND I can't try to take a short cut and cut out all treats and celebrations, else I set myself up for failure (either giving up or going yoyo after goal). I need to stay with a maintainable lifestyle which monitors calories, incorporates moderate exercise, and allows special treats and meals.
It's working! I have lost 2 pounds since re-commiting and I am determined to get to goal!
I have about 18 pounds left and it's getting harder and slower for me. Plus the fall seems to be a harder time to lose weight for me. But I'm sticking with it and I'd love to be at my goal of 125 pounds by New Year's. I'm not sure if it will happen, but I'm going to try.
I have about 20lbs to go also. I tend to lose a pound a week on a good week, I just have so much trouble staying on the wagon lately! It's awful. Hopefully an active group will help me (though I tend to fall out of groups very easily.) Can someone ask where I am once a week? haha
Hey ladies, hope you are all doing well and hope the numbers on the scale are moving down....
As for me, I will be weight in 1 October so I will update my weight on that day. I have been pretty disciplined with my diet for the past few days. I am looking smaller but I am also doing weights to tone my body and I must say it is looking pretty good....
What are you ladies doing to treat your cellulite?
Hi friends,
I see folks are working on goals and would like to join. I just weighed in and found that I'm a bit up from my last weigh in. My final goal is in eight pounds. My biggest challenge since I stopped weight loss structure (to go on a vacation for 3 weeks) was medical issues. This year's entire weight loss was constantly spurred by serious joint pain. As I lost weight, the pain reduced. My vacation was a great chance to relax--pain free--and enjoy some "maintenance" structuring. I ended up in the ER after returning from vacation with sciatica and a big muscle spasm. So, I'm not disappointed (much) with a little increase. I've been slowly recovering and getting back to my pre-vacation exercise routine. Most meals are my pre-vacation weight loss plan (I do calorie counting and volumetrics)--I just also eat a klondick bar here or add another meal in.
Today I am back to:
1) calorie counting
2) volumetrics (which I sincerely enjoy and never ended)
3) exercise:
--same time amount of pre-vacation (90 min, 5x week)
--increase pounds for weights
--use 5 pounders for my dvd
--get back to 8 pounder hand weights in a week
--start my pre-vacation ab routine (4x week)
4) I never count my walking but I usually walk about 40 to 70 thousand steps a week.
During weight loss for eight months I lost a reliable 1.5 pound to almost 2 pound per week. I always saw a decrease. I'm preparing myself for a slower pace and possible stops in this final eight pounds. However, I have learned for me that I can either do it or not do it. I can't 'sort of' do it. If I'm in for weight loss, I have to do the entire regime with gusto. My fun goals are to completely zip up my new size six purple dress (it's almost there but not yet). I will wear it for my boss' inaugeral ball in January (he's up for re-election and no other candidates). I want to get rid of all size 8 clothes and only have six 6 (or maybe one size 4). My health goal is to successfully manage my sciatica and back pain with consistent and enjoyable exercise. Luckily, I have no knee pain to manage (woo hoo!).
happening/Jenny: we have almost the same stats! And from reading back a few posts, it sounds like we have a similar (frustrating!) body shape. I really hate carrying so much weight around my bum/thighs/saddlebags. Especially the saddlebags, which makes it look like I have really short stumpy legs since they stick out further than my hips. Some photo evidence in my blog.
My goal is to lose 20 pounds to be 115 by Christmas or soon after.
