Default P2: Butternut Squash Apple Bake

1 butternut squash (2 pounds) peeled and cut into 1/2 inch slices.
3 medium tart apples, peled cored and thinly sliced into rings
1/3 cup Splenda brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons ww flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter buds , melted or butter.

Arrange squash in a pan coated with nonstick cooking spray. Top with the apple rings. Combine the brown sugar , flour and cinnamon. sprinkle over apples. Drizzle with butter buds.
Cover and bake 350deg. for 40-45min or until squash is tender. serves 8

I am sorry for this question. I have been reading so many books for a new woe and decided this is the one but is the butternut squash ok for level one or is it considered a veggie like any other. I hope so. Kathy

The butternut squash is ok for P1 in this diet and is a veggie like others, though you'll need to exercise more portion control here than with green beans due to the calorie difference. But the Splenda Brown Sugar contains real sugar, so that will bump this recipe to Phase 2
