Well, hello, everyone! Here we are another day or so closer to Christmas….how many of you are done with your Christmas gift buying and preparation? I'm soooooo not! I'm having a hard time getting into the season…I mean, I have the decorations up and glad DS2's home from college, but circumstances are conspiring to take away my Christmas joy. Still sad about Rosebud, plus, I dislocated my hip on Friday and haven't been able to leave the house. I'm finally off the crutch, but still have to take ibuprofen for the pain from the stretched tendons, etc. DS2 and I may try to go to town for groceries and some Christmas shopping today, but thinking it will have to be a short trip with plenty of places to sit or just rest the leg.
We're not even sure what we'll be doing for Christmas, but probably just staying home. DS1 finally has a job, but still has a huge fine and probation for his last offense of driving while revoked (he just can't seem to understand why he has to obey the law-he gets that from his real mom and her family, who never met a law they weren't willing to break as often as possible-not sure how DH ever really got involved with her, but he says she was more 'normal' back then). So, anyway, the DS1 family probably won't be able to come down for the holiday. Maybe, I'll ask if we could go get the grandkids for a few days while they're on Christmas break from school.
DS3 is having semester finals this week then he'll be on break too
If anyone here has any wisdom regarding type 1 diabetes and foods, let me know. DS3's girlfriend has type 1 and has been having a lot of problems-she passed out in the shower at home alone a couple weeks ago and laid there for about 45 minutes until she had strength enough to get out. I'm never sure what to fix when she's over or what to watch out for. We're worried about her.
Well, I guess I'd better get moving so we can go to town. Plus, have to rouse these boys to get the trash out! Take care and have a blessed day, everyone!
