Unhappy I'm a newbie

This is my first time so I hope I'm doing this right. I need encouragement. Is there anyone out there that was able to no longer use food for comfort? I find it helps make the feelings go down easier. As you can see I'm having withdrawls. I'm hoping this year will be different. I have 90 pounds to lose and it sure would help to hear from someone. Thx

Hi Powerful,
I am a newbie too and I am battling this one as well. I now created a blog so that I can write about it. Instead of beating up on myself when I do overeat I start asking why am I eating so much, what is really wrong? If I need to cry, or talk to the person or do what I can about the situation or accept that I can ONLY accept the situation then I try to do that and move on. I hope that this helps.

I'm a newbie2 (too). I know that emotional eating does help me for the moment. I seriously can feel my emotions relaxing while I'm eating. This is the first time I'm trying to use the Web. Asking God to be an active part of trying to battle the battle is the only way. When I talk about what God says about food, I find that I become a bit stronger. But I've lost my share group, so let's do it online. Here's my first thing: What excuse do I/you use to eat?
