This year for x-mas I am exchanging with my bf's sister. She has an above ground pool and would like to be able to do water aerobics or exercises during the summer. She just doesn't know where to start. I've been on line and found a website that sells aqua barbells and water walkers and there's all kinds of aqua aerobic videos, though since she'll be in an outdoor pool, she won't be able to watch a video while working out. I guess she'd have to memorize the routines. Anyway, there's a lot out there but I was wondering if anyone had ever used any of these devices or bought a book or video that they liked? I can't find many reviews on this type of thing. She's someone who wants some structure rather than coming up with her own workout routine. Thanks in advance!
Hi there! Aqua aerobics is really big in the UK, maybe visit some UK web sites?!? Im currently doing a course of aqua aerobics, and we do it in circuits, and there are about 7 "spots", covering arms, tums, legs - we spend 2 minutes at each spot, 1 minute on each leg, arm etc.
I looked into this a little too, I have a tape on the way. It seems that most of the tapes you watch once and then they have an audio cassette that you take to the pool to listen to. If you check out videofitness.com in the reviews section they have a section on the different tapes that reviews them. I believe that collage video has some too which means that you can preview them at that website.
