Default March of the Chicks... A Challenge

Hello

Would anyone like to join me in a million step chick march? Together we can do it! Here is how it works:

First, please sign up in the "March of the Chicks...Signup" thread.

Then once a week post the number of steps you can contribute. If you have been keeping track recently, toss those into the pot to start out with.

Please use this format:

Steps this week:
Total number of steps:

I will keep track and post on a regular basis how many steps we have. When we hit one million, each participant gets to go out and get themselves something special as a reward!

This is not a contest! If you are just starting out and get just a few that is fine. Together we can make it. Soooooo... how about it, everyone?

I will start out by tossing in my 58,965 I have done this week so far.

Total this week: 58,965
Total steps: 58,965

Ready... set... go!!!!

Dance

Hooray, found the Challenge! I'm in and here's my contribution of steps taken between Tuesday February 14 (when I got my new pedometer and started keeping track) through Sunday February 19: 32,556

May I make the assumption your weeks are going to go Monday through Sunday, so this week will start Monday, February 20 and run through Sunday, February 29? Will we record our contributions on Mondays, then? I'm at a little over 40,000 for this week already.

I'm so excited about this Challenge, what fun! Thank you for coming up with it, Dance!

Steps this week: 59,348 (Monday Feb 20 - Sunday Feb 26)

Total number of steps: 91,904

Hi Lena... Glad you joined in!! And thanks for the step contribution!

Actually I thought we could let people post whatever day they want just so long as it is not more than once a week so it doesn't get too confusing. And we will go until we get to one million steps... LOL I doubt if we can make it by Feb. 29!! But thanks for asking for clarifications; guess I was not clear enough!

With both our contributions we are at 91,521!!

Only 908,479 to go! LOL but we can do it! LadyFirelyght and Kayley will be here soon, and hopefully others!

Note: The reason my steps show more on my ticker than here is that I update that one daily!!

Ok, that sounds good. I'll probably post mine on Mondays, if that's ok with you, since I follow a Monday-Sunday week.

Woohoo, we've nearly broken 100K!!!

Hi, I would love to do this!!!! I go to this really cool park over by my house every weekend and walk the trails while my kids play. It is about 2 miles long. I don't know how many steps that is but I was thinking about getting one of those step-counter things. What a cooool idea! I will have to start next weekend though because it has rained all day here .

Dance4joy... yeah I heard it rains constantly in Seattle. Is that true? I wouldn't mind so much but my kids would. I have a stair stepper I use when it rains. It isn't as much fun though. Maybe when I get the pedometer I can use it while I am on the stepper as well. Does that count?

LOL no it is NOT true at all! It is a lot of hype, and a lot of it intentional. Especially in the summer we have the most glorious blue sunshiny days. However it CAN rain a LOT in winter... LOL like these past couple months we had rain something like 45 days in a row except for one or two in there. Actually I love the rain!! In no way does it rain all the time but for someone who doesn't like rain it's probably not the best place. However, most of the time the rain is more of a heavy mist... and we don't let it stop us much from anything; in fact you will hardly ever see anyone with an umbrella.

And yes of course stepper steps count! I wear my pedometer when doing housework or whatever... most of the day though I usually take it off when just lazing around the house since I like to wear a long nightshirt. But steps are steps, and any way you get them is fair game LOL.

February 25 and 26th, total steps accumulated: 9075.

It did quite a bit of walking today... but amazingly only have done 5000 steps so far! Maybe I'll go for a long walk in a little while.

That's great, Lady! Yah some days it seems harder to get them in than others.

I have yours down and will post our new totals every Friday evening or Saturday morning!! (But you can post them any time; I am keeping track.)
