It is from the rubbing yes, and from the sweat. Different pants definitely would have been better. I have a pair of shorts that come down to my knee but it sometimes feels like they falling down. And because my club top is a bit short I always pull them up. But they are lycra ones, I need to get normal knee-length nylon ones I think.
