For some people, it's all about finding something you love doing (yoga, running, etc) and sticking to it. Others feel the need to constantly switch it up, biking one day, lifting weight the next, etc. I think looking at it this way helped me figure out how to get into a routine - identify which type of person you are, and plan accordingly!
Either way, you should try as many different things as you can at least once, because you never know what you might fall in love with. For someone who gets disengaged early on in the workout because they're bored, I'd suggest something fun that doesn't feel like you're working out at all - Zumba!
