Default I'm getting "National Geographic" boobs! Can I fix them?!

Look, I knew that when I started losing weight, the weight was going to come off all over. I knew that I couldn't target specific areas, and that, most likely, the areas where I wanted to lose weight the most would be the most stubborn. And I knew, from previous experience, that once I started losing weight, the first place I was going to lose it from was my chest. (If I lose ten pounds, eight pounds of it will come off my chest, I swear.)

But I did *not* expect things to go to this degree. :/ Since January of 2011, I have gone from a 44DD to a 38C, and things are not pretty in that particular area. Like, at all. I mean, I used to joke that my boobs could double as a handy shelf if needed...and now, oh holy ****, there's no way that would ever happen. They're just....there. Barely. And it's fine, I suppose, as long as I'm wearing a bra, but, I mean, let's face it. If you're a woman, you know what I mean...you kind of want to look good naked, too, don't you? But I don't. Well, I do, for the most part, but there is major, major sagging going on.

What I'm wondering is: is there a way I can improve things? I know I can't turn back time or whatever (after all, I'm not old by a long shot, but I'm not twenty anymore, you know?) but even if there was something I could do to naturally lift things, I'd be somewhat satisfied. I've begun weight training, but is there any kind of specific target weight training I can do to try and maybe strengthen my chest muscles so things can be lifted a little?

It's honestly so bad that at this point, if I can't eventually do something about it naturally, I'd consider having surgery...but I'd really rather not, if there's something I can do myself.

It's just so disheartening to have worked this hard to get where I am, and still have this issue that is wreaking havoc on my self-esteem. So if anyone has any suggestions, I'd really appreciate it.

While my boobs still aren't all that great, they seem to get better when I'm wearing the right bra.

I don't know if you're wearing the right size or not (38C sounds like a big band for someone of your size) but it always is worth it to double check. runningfromfat has some great resources!! Check out her blog: http://bralessinbrasil.blogspot.com

I swear within weeks of wearing my proper size my boobs looks so much better! Much more so than any strength training could hope to accomplish (and I'm very much into the strength training)

Maybe I *am* wearing the wrong band size. There are times when it seems really big around my ribcage, so maybe that's part of the issue. Friends of mine have also recommended getting some push-up bras, too, which I'll probably look into (but it's so weird for me to even be considering that, because for most of my life, a push-up bra is something I never even needed. EVER).

I really wish there was a place around here to buy bras that wasn't WalMart, you know? Seriously, that is the ONLY place around here to buy them (well, other than the plus-sized specialty store, but for obvious reasons, that's not a place I can shop, because, hey, nothing over there fits me!)

I guess I have to go bra shopping. OH JOY, OH BLISS. *L*

PS: That link in your post doesn't work, btw.

My guess is for sure your band size is too big.

But, no exercise is going to help with the sag. Mine is sagging really bad too. I can flex my pec muscles and that will raise the muscle wall behind the boobs (or should say above the boobs as they are sagging way below that), but there is no hope for the girls without surgery and surgery isn't happening.

The title killed me though. I TOTALLY have "National Geographic boobs" except they've never seen the light of day, so they are so white they glare, but I almost look flat when braless as they hang so low flat.

To make you laugh (as sometimes you just have to laugh). I found this cartoon a few weeks back.

I live fifty miles from the middle of nowhere. The nearest VS store to me is roughly 2,500 kilometres away. There is a La Senza store in St. John's (the nearest major city) but that's still about 450 kilometres away. The *only* place in town where you can buy bras is WalMart, which does me *no* good because the bras are complete garbage.

Seriously, size yourself and order them. Many stores have free returns too if the sizing doesn't work out.

Maybe I typed it wrong: http://braslessinbrasil.blogspot.com/

I live in NY and I have to buy bras online! The shops around here start at 32 bands and I need a 28 or 30 band. I'm a 30F usually.

If your band is loose you'd probably really benefit from bra that is the right size I know it seems like a small thing, but the bra is more important than the new clothes!

Yeah, I think on my way home from work tonight I'm going to drop into my seamstress' place and have her measure me. (Since I've never done it myself, I don't trust myself to do it properly.) Then I'll get searching online! (I have to admit, the idea of being able to buy LaSenza bras without having to actually go to the store excites me. *L*)

Go to runningfromfat's site, but basically you measure under your breasts directly even all around your rib cage and add NO INCHES. that is your band size.

I'm a BIG GIRL and my band is 34 (meaning my ribcage is 34), so I really doubt you are a 38".

Then, the second measurement is over your breasts straight around. The difference determines your cup size.

Now, if you've been forever buying humongous bands (and if you were wearing a 44 you were wearing humongous bands), then your actual band size might feel too tight and you might want to add 2" to start out, but that you will need to see.

There is a store in our area that have "Bra Specialist". They measure you and let you know what size you are. They are great. I have a minimizer bra and it makes my boobs look smaller than they really are. I love this bra.

The only thing is that when I take my bra off, I can sweep the floor. So, I have been thinking about breast reduction. Insurance won't pay for it, so I may have to get a 2nd job. I DESPARATELY want smaller and perky boobs. I'm a 36DDD and I want to be a 36C.

I cannot stand minimizer bras. All they do is smash you to the sides and then you look more like a man or something.

I strongly resemble that comic strip. Unfortunately, I don't see how extra muscle could possibly take up all the slack of the extra skin in my breasts. They weren't that perky when they were new, and now after weight gain and loss and 5 pregnancies, a well fitting, sexy bra is my best option. Or surgery, but I'm not willing to do that.

Love the title of this thread! So far, my band size has gone down and my cup size has gone up! I am not losing the girls, but they are sagging. I have no advice other than a good bra or surgery, but know that I and others have this same issue!
