I feel the same way, Joanne, I could never do it without a CD. I've tried, and the time seems to stand still. I made a CD of 80s music, I find that works better for me. I included songs I really like and I ONLY listen to it when I'm on the treadmill. When I'm tempted to stop, I'll hear another favorite song begin, and will want to keep going for just one more song. The minutes can add up quickly that way!

I've walked an hour a day 4 days this week.

Default Hey There

MOTIVATION...I have to find it. I seem to be so busy lately. That is a excuse,I know. I used to set a time of day to do this for myself. I must get back to that routine. I have osteoarthritis and my knees are bad. I will try to walk through the pain. That used to work. I would have pain for the first half mile and then it would ease up. I turned 70 this weekend and I am trying to convince myself I can get back into my routine.I might not walk as far as I used to ,but, I will try to walk .Today is Dr. appointments. Maybe I can get home in time...Joanne

Angry Hey, hey, hey

Hey Joanne, happy belated birthday! Sorry to hear about your arthritis and such but you are an inspiration to me by just getting out there and walking--gritting your teeth and doing it anyway. Way to go. You'll make that goal I'm sure. Congrats on maintaining your loss too.

Hello everyone. I've been pretty consistent w/walking at least 5 days a week, M-F after work. I get in an hour and 5-10 minutes depending on speed and usually rack up about 3.5 miles. Weight loss has been at a standstill for about a month but I have lost a few inches, so hooray for small miracles.

Keep it up everyone, we can do this if we put our minds to it, just ask Joanne .

Will check in tomorrow.

Aloha,
Noelle

Default Hey There

HELLO NOELLE.FLOWER AND ALL. I have to say that the maintaining is the hardest part. I want to lose another 17 lbs. The Dr. set a goal weight for me this week. I have been struggling to lose more for sometime. I have now joined a TOPS group for support. My sister is a leader there. I was going to WW but this is easier and the communication among the other members is very good. I am on a lot of medication and that doesn't help. It can be done though. I will try to walk on the treadmill today even though I get really bored on it. T. V. and CD'S help. My tradmill is old. I have worn out one motor and this one sounds like it is ready to blow up...
See you later. Joanne

45 minute walk in the wind today. I might go talk the dog out later if the wind dies down some.

Go Joanne Go
Go Flower Go

I got in my regular route of 3.5 miles + a little extra by walking my son to school and by doing my business errands on foot. I'm feeling great! Pssst! A little secret, the scales are moving downward finally! I'll update my stats on my regular weigh-in day which is Saturday.

Where are all you other walkers? Let's get out there and do it.

I have not been doing good at all. I messed up my back somehow and it has been bothering me for the past 2 weeks. I went to the Chiropractor today and I have 3 vert. that are compacted. He was ablt to loosen them up a bit but they are really tight. I have to go back on Monday. He said it should be about 5 or 6 visits to loosen everything up. I did walk for 40 minutes the other day and payed for it later in the day. I feel best when I am in the new LazyBoy and have it reclined. This way the pressure is off my spine.
