Default The body's ability to change rapidly!

We had cold, windy and rainy weather today, so I was relegated to the basement and onto the treadmill for my run today. I haven't been on the treadmill in months because I have been running outside. I got to thinking about when I was first running on the treadmill and looked back and found this post that I made in January of this year...

The first 2 minute run, I feel okay but start looking at the timer about about 1 minute in. At the second 2 minute run, I feel like it really sucks at about 45 seconds in. By the 3rd 2 minute run, I think I'm going to die by the time 2 minutes is up. The last one I am just counting the seconds and demanding to myself that I finish.

So to move on to anything more then 2 minutes at a time is completely daunting. I have done this for 3 weeks and expected that it would get easier but it hasn't. Do you think I am doing something wrong or do I just need to be patient?
I got a lot of good advice at that time. I was laughing at myself today, because I ran 3.25 miles in 36:30, running at anywhere from 5.3 - 6.0 MPH. I am still not a speed demon by any means, but it is somewhat amazing to me how much better my body has gotten in less then a year.

So if anyone here is still reading who has been struggling with running or any other exercise, take heart! Your body can and will adapt and change for the better!!

That is great isn't it? It would be nice if we could all remember to record and then look back on it...

Great encouragement. I have added a new challenge to my exercise schedule. This morning I thought "will my body ever get use to this?" Thanks for the encouragement, I guess I'll try again tomorrow.
