Welcome Cheryl!

Miaka- Way to go on week 5!

Meeel- Done with week 4...I'm still scared of week 4!

Luvinit- I run inside, but I run around a track so timing is easier once I figured out how far I ran during the intervals. I go more by laps than by time now. It was a lot of trial and error to find out what worked best for me. It does get easier, but each monday kicks my butt.

Finished week 3...on to week 4 and 5 min of running. *shivers*

Thinsole - good luck with wk 4! first day I didn't complete the last 5 min run, but by day 3 I found the 5 min parts easier than the 3 mins. It's strange (lol), but I guess that I get to my 'second wind' or something in those extra 2 minutes...

did w5d1 today. it felt good! my body felt better jogging/running than it did walking, so I think my muscles are starting to get used to the movement and impact. next is the 8 min intervals... so, it could be a different story ha

I did my 5k this morning in 33 min and 25 seconds

A personal best for me but I really didn't feel that fresh and needed to stop and adjust my watch. I think I could have done a 32 time if things went better.

Still, I got a workout and put up a good time. I am very happy!!

hey ladies! I'm back! I took a break from everything to heal after a viral infection of the respiratory tract. I've got another 5 days of antibiotics and such, but I ran this evening! Week 3 Day 2! It was a lot easier than day 1. It's pretty freaking magical the way the endurance just BUILDS and BUILDS. Taking time off was apparently what I needed.

Anyway...I digress..

Keep running and posting ladies!!!

Aka8941 - Sorry you are not feeling well. Looks like we are working on the same week.

Saturday - Week 3 Day 1. I was worried about this step, but it went well. Instead of two repetitions, I was able to complete three. I plan on completing Day 2 this evening.

Hi Guys!

I hope I can just jump in here. I am relatively new to the site and just started C25K yesterday. I lost about 40 pounds last year, mostly through diet and light exercise. With about 20 pounds to my goal weight left, I hit a serious plateau this summer. I'm hoping that changing up my workout routine will help get me back in gear.

I always thought that I just wasn't meant to be a runner but made it through W1D1 without feeling too stressed. I use the iphone app which was a big help...I would definitely be one of those people tripping trying while checking their watch. I have registered for a Turkey Trot on Nov. 27 so hopefully I will be checking in as I move towards my first 5k

ingridh - Welcome! Wow, 40 pounds is amazing! Good luck with the last 20!! Since starting C25K I've lost between 1 to 2 pounds a week, so it's definitely great for weight loss!

Scarlett - congrats on the 5K! That's a great time!

Completed Wk5D2 today. the 8 minutes felt good! As always the first 3 minutes were rough, but once I found my rthyme I was fine!
I have got a massive blister on the sole of my foot. I've got wide feet, so length wise my shoe is a little big... I'm thinking that my foot might be sliding around in my shoe. I made the 2nd half of the trip painful. That and the slight ache in my thigh.

20 minutes next! Zomg, I'm excited and petrified at the same time...

Hope everyone is having a good week!

W1D1 down!

Wow! When I read about those of you on higher weeks, it scares and excites me at the same time! I can't wait!

Congrats to all!

done W2D3 yesterday. Rather off-track but I think I may start W3 tonight if I have time. I jumped on the scale this morning and so far no change. I'm not too concerned because I feel different in a good way, hopefully soon though

I just ran 2 miles straight for W5D3. I can't believe I did it. Meeel4121, you are so right, I ran on the treadmill and watched the timer the whole time. I need something to cover it up next time.

Miaka - Congrats on the 2 miles!! I use the iPhone app, I jam it into my pocket, or my bra (bad habit, I know), and leave it there. Makes the time go faster.

I did W4D3 today, and I looked at the timer at the 15 min and 18 min mark. Man did those last 5 minutes drag!!! Ultimately I did 18 minutes. The combination of this blister on my foot and stomach pains made me stop. I was disappointed, but then I realised that never in my life have I run 18 minutes without stopping in my life, so I feel slightly better. I'll attempt it again tomorrow.

Aka- I feel the same way about the endurance. I'm always amazed when I move onto the next week and what I struggled with the week before becomes the easy part, lol.

ingridh- Welcome! Congrats on the 40 pounds lost! You can smash through that plateau for sure!

Miaka- Way to go on running 2 miles straight!

Meeeel- Congrats on running 18 minutes straight. That is a big accomplishment in my opinion!

Scarlett- Way to go on the 5K lady!

Whoo hoo! W4D2 down! Feels so good to have it done earlier in the day then have to wait till this evening.

It was my first time running around the neighborhood. I thought I'd be embarrassed with stuff bouncing and flapping everywhere but instead I felt empowered. It felt really good to know I was getting stronger and to realize how far I was jogging at one time. For some reason the distance wasn't clicking when I was just doing circles on the track.

It did slow my pace down some because I didn't have my usual pace markers and I learned a valuable lesson. Never run on trash day...ew.

Completed Week 3 last night. I am really nervous about starting week 4, but will trudge through it starting tomorrow evening. Thank goodness the weather is cooler in the evenings.
