I haven't perused the sites listed, but if it's your piriformis that's hurting, try sitting on the edge of a chair, cross the leg of the afflicted side over the other leg so that the ankle is on the knee (the leg of the afflicted side should be parallel to the ground) and lean forward. Also, again crossing the ankle of the afflicted side over the knee of the other side and sitting on a tennis ball on the side of the butt that hurts helps too. Roll around over the tennis ball until you hit a spot where it hurts. It can REALLY hurt, but start out putting just a little body weight on the tennis ball and slowly put more and more weight, as much as you can. YouTube:
