Default Gym shoes and how often to replace them

So, I'm wondering. How often do you replace your gym shoes? I am asking cause my gym shoes are actually starting to hurt a little. Right on the side of my pinkie toes. More so on my left foot. Even when I take them off, that area of my pinkie is red and inflamed. I'm wondering if there are just worn out in that area?

I bought these in May 2010, and have used them 5 days a week in the gym. Prob time to replace them. Love those shoes and they are soooo $$$

I would say it depends on how much you use them. It is usually about every 6 months or between 350-550 miles.

You could also find the same pair in the store and try them on and see if there is a big difference. It might surprise you how much they have worn out but it will give you a good idea of how the shoes are doing.

Hope this helps.

I usually switch them out about every 6 months....or when I find a super cute pair that I just can't resist

I read an interesting article that said you should buy two pairs. One to wear to the gym, the other to wear only went doing very light walking or just "everyday" stuff. When the two pairs start to feel different, ditch the gym pair, promote the "everyday" ones to gym-wear, and buy a new set for "everyday" purposes.
