Playlist songs
I am attempting to create a playlist on my ipod to motivate me to workout. Personally I think it is easier to workout when I have some inspirational music blasting in my ears. I was wondering is anyone has any specific songs that help to motivate them. I like pretty much all types of music. Any suggestions?

I can ONLY work out with music! It's so helpful!
I generally listen to either really trashy pop or club music. Basically anything fun, not-serious, and up-beat. Right now, it's a lot of techno/big European hits (essentially, anything that would make you want to dance/go out clubbing for a night!) and bad pop (think Rihanna, Kesha, Britney Spears, etc...). For some reason, I can't listen to my normal music when working out... it's almost boring, in some way.
Also, basically any music from Glee... even though I don't like the show that much, something about the music is peppy and dance-inducing, which definitely keeps me energetic throughout my workout!
Definitely ODD choices on my part, but they work for me! Good luck!

I love pop type stuff or hip hop for a workout. Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Christina Agrulara, Missy Elliot, Pink, Katy Perry to name a few.
Anything that makes me want to dance, makes it fun to work out.

I was hoping to get some cardio music suggestions from people as well. I'd love it if more people would post some of their workout music!
Right now, I have a huge variety of stuff on the workout playlist I use on the treadmill. I'll take any music I like in which there's a generally fast beat, even if the song itself generally isn't upbeat. Some of my choices are probably pretty odd, lol. Here's my current playlist:
All These Things That I've Done, The Killers
Amsterdam, Guster
And She Was, Talking Heads
And We Danced, The Hooters
Babylon, David Gray
Bette Davis Eyes, Kim Carnes
Bleed It Out, Linkin Park
Burning Down the House, Talking Heads
Clocks, Coldplay
Closer to Fine, Indigo Girls
Come Downstairs and Say Hello, Guster
Crazy, Gnarls Barkley
Everlong, Foo Fighters
Fall In Two, Guster
Flathead, The Fratellis
Golddigger, Kanye West
Golden Touch, Razorlight
Goodnight Goodnight, Hot Hot Heat
Backyard, Guster
Hang Me Up To Dry, Cold War Kids
Here Comes the Rain Again, Eurythmics
Hey Ya!, Outkast
Holiday, Green Day
Invincible, Pat Benatar
Jesus on the Radio, Guster
Just Like Heaven, The Cure
Little Lion Man, Mumford & Sons
Long Day, Matchbox Twenty
Lose Yourself, Eminem
Mr. Brightside, The Killers
(Nothing But) Flowers, Guster
Me and Julio, Simon and Garfunkle
The Pretender, Foo Fighters
Love the One You're With, CSN
The Safety Dance, Men Without Hats
Sexy Back, Justin Timberlake
Since U Been Gone, Kelly Clarkson
Slide, Goo Goo Dolls
Smooth Criminal, Michael Jackson
Snow (Hey Oh), Red Hot Chili Peppers
Two Weeks, Grizzly Bear
What I've Done, Linkin Park
When You Were Young, The Killers
Word Forward, Foo Fighters
Your Love, The Outfield
Of those, the newest-to-me songs are my current favorites - the 3 Foo Fighters songs (whom I didn't realize I even liked until recently), the Mumford and Sons song (OMG I love it, and it's the PERFECT workout song for me - epic, with lots of builds) and a few others. I would love more suggestions though!!

Seriously EPIC play list!!!! It deserves to be quoted in it's entirety. I am so stealing the list. What is the best thing...I have all these songs already, just not in a play list. XD

I love the rhythm of irish/scottish drinking and war songs, from traditional to rock and punk versions, especially Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molley, The Real McKenzies...

I really like P!nk's song Raise Your Glass. It's upbeat and good for working out. I also tend to listen to rock music because the beat keeps me motivated.
My favorite tunes for working out are:
P!nk
Lady GaGa
A Day to Remember
Breaking Benjamin
Three Days Grace
3OH!3
3 Doors Down
Thats all I can think of right now, but my advice is pick upbeat songs for your playlist, no slow songs. In my experience if I listen to slower songs while I work out I don't work out as hard..
Good Luck!!!

Do you have a smartphone/internet -capable phone?
I am a HUGE fan of the Slacker Radio/ Pandora Apps. Today I did a loooong run, and I used the Kesha station on Slacker. Tons of upbeat, fun, indulgent girly songs!
