Default Arm Exercises - Need Advice

I want to start incorporating arm exercises into my exercise routine. My arms are fat and flabby and I want to help them along whether it is by building muscle or toning. They need help getting slim and firm!

I am wondering if I should buy some small weights or resistance bands. I am thinking weights, not sure though. Wondering what people here prefer.

Also wondering if people had a favorite arm exercise or a favorite work out video for arms.

I really appreciate any suggestions - I really want to work on my arms!!

I really like Jillian Micheals 30 Day Shred and No More Trouble Zones. She does a bit of arm exercises in both as well as legs, abs and incorporates cardio and stretching. I've noticed a difference in the month I've been doing the videos. My arms are firmer and I even have a little bicep! I use 3 pound hand weights when doing the videos.

I like bands and weights. For me, weights build a bit of bulk (you'll never get huge unless you eat tons and tons of protein). Resistance kind of shapes the muscle ( i do a lot of isometric movements, which is similar to band). The big key to slim arms? Fat loss. Watch your diet clllossssely. If your lifting and losing body fat at the same time, you'll be thrilled with what's waiting under the flab (take it from me).

you can really do alot for toning the arms and all over just doing body weight exercises. or use household items. use large water jugs, do bicep curls. fill a back pack and do squats. do any version of push ups or wall push ups. use a can of food or other household item and do tricep exercises, laying down or over/behind the head. dips off the coffee table or couch.

sorry i can't think of much for the arms. i'm all about lower body. about.com has lots of charts with pictures for exercises with or without weights, using bands. i think which one you use is personal preference. maybe get both eventually, can't beat how portable the bands are.
