I am currently training for my first 5K. I will be getting new running shoes in a month or so. I want to do Triathlons. I already love swimming and cycling, it's the running that I need to learn to love!! So far so good!
My question is when I buy my new running shoes, should I get Triathlon running shoes so that I can get used to them right from the start? Or should I just get regular running shoes?
I know that I am going to fall in love once I do my first Triathlon! I get excited thinking about it and look forward to my training workouts each day!
Try them both and see what it feels like to run in them. Chose the best one for your price range. I personally don't find a big difference between the two kinds of shoes and I just go with what feels good on my feet.
Majority of triathletes just use running shoes. You probably only want Tri racing flats when you've moved on to longer races where you're worried about really quick transitions. You can always put on elastic laces on your regular running shoe which makes slipping them on and off quick.
Just make sure you get fitted for proper shoes that's the important part.
