  • I am getting a Wii Fit Plus for Christmas (I am not supposed to know..ssshhhh!!).

What "games" are must haves? Does anyone do boxing as a workout? My son does it all the time and he sweats like crazy. I am going to give it a try, I think. I am sure it'll kick my butt!
  • There is an awesome, awesome Wii game called Gold's Gym Cardio Workout. It's pretty much all boxing, and super-fun...and it gets my very fit, does an hour of cardio a day body TIRED and SORE.
  • I have a wii and I love love love it! I recommend the wii sports, specifically tennis, wii sports resorts, wii fit, and wii fit plus. My boyfriend and I do the activities all the time and don't really feel like we're working out, but by the end of it we're both sweating like mad.
  • I love mine too! I really do need to hop back on that bad boy and give it a spin. I remember getting sweaty from doing the hula hooping and such!
  • The new fit plus has super hula hoop. It's intense, my abs were burning before I was even close to done!
  • I kind of recommend the Dance, Dance Revolution and I recommend two mats so you can do it with someone. It's more fun! The problem is that unlike Guitar Hero which has awesome music by the original artists as heard on the radio, DDR has generic singers and the music is just...bad. That's my opinion anyway. But the concept is good!
  • got wii fit plus - christmas 2009
Okay I just got my wii fit plus for xmas I hope I can do it. Age 54 UGH and overweight well we'll see
  • 2feelbetter - you will be able to do it - you shall see. I grows with you...

    Have fun!
  • Well I did it with my daughter yesterday and it's a challenge. But here's the question . We tried a lot of the different games yesterday but it only has you do about 3 minutes. We were playing with it for about 2 hours and when we finished I had only done about 20 minutes.

Does it increase the amount of time as you continue to do it?
  • Well it's only an estimation of the amount of time you exercised because it doesn't include the practice session that it runs you through to start with every time. Just remember, even if it says you were only doing it for 20 minutes... it's two whole hours that you were up off the couch doing something. And it was fun!
  • As you do it, you will open up "advanced levels" and those will go longer.

Also, if you go into the fit programs you can get some of them to go back to back... and will build up time.

I did a customize program tonight that ended up being an 1.08 hour workout. It took about 1.20 minutes to complete.... it does cut down on some but not all of the talking. The only that I wish you could turn off. (BTW I burned about 367 calories during that and it was a workout for me)
  • I love my wii fit. i brought mine back in april. but i rarely used it because i didn't have a TV in my room. and was only able to use when the family room TV was free. But now i got my own TV in my room so I can now do wii fit more often.

im thinking of buying the gold's gym cardio workout. has anyone tried it? is it any good?
  • I like EA Sports Active workouts and I got the More Workouts for Xmas. The latter has a great 30 minute step class (that's 3x10mins) so you don't have to keep starting and stopping.

  • I just got the Wii Fit Plus, and I totally love it. I love the running, step and Rhythm Kung Fu! Pow! Pow! Pow! I wish the workouts (even the advanced ones) lasted longer, but I haven't tried programming my own.

Can you program back to back to back cardio so there's no switching back and forth?

I'm also looking at what other Wii fitness games I should get (EA Active? Jillian's 2010? Jenny McCarthy's Your Shape? Dance Dance Revolution - does the music really suck that bad? ) Any suggestions for a beginner/intermediate exercise who according to the Wii Balance Board is obese and a bit unbalanced?
  • I bought "Just Dance" for my daughter for Christmas, and i must say that it is a great workout... i was gasping for breath within minutes, and it is really fun, (all you need is your wii remote, no dance mat like in DDR)

ETA: music by original artists.. mostly older stuff but great dance songs
