Walk to New York and back
 

While keeping stats at my sons football game tonight, the gal who takes pics was wearing the pedometer I want. So I asked her how she liked it.

She said she really liked it, but the best part is, a group of people from the small consolidated school, with 2 sites, one for elementary, and one for jr. hi/highschool had a contest among teachers and other employees.

They walked from Potter and Dix, Nebraska to New York and back! About 20 people participated.

What a fun contest/challenge. I just thought it was really a cool thing to do.

what kind of pedometer was it.?

I'm going to risk sounding really dumb here.
Do you mean like "Run, Forrest, run!" where they set out, followed by a car & lots of water bottles & cheering well-wishers, and stayed in motels at night, and actually did this?
Or were they logging miles & using a map?
(That destination would not work so well for me. It's a little less than 20 miles from where I live to the center of Grand Central Terminal on 42nd Street. I'd have to pick a destination in Nebraska.)
