what do you listen to on your ipod when you work out?
Some of faves:
Ojos Asi - Shakira
Like a Prayer - Madonna
Express Yourself - Madonna
One Week - Bare Naked Ladies
La Camisa Negra - Juanes
Closer to Fine - Indigo Girls
Always looking for new ones - one way I reward myself when I reach a mini goals is to buy 5 or 10 new songs from itunes...so let me know what gets you moving!
i listen to alot of "rap"/hip hop while i work out-and then after that playlist i just shuffle, which is a mix of country, rock, rap, etc etc...little bit of everything
I mainly have on my ipod songs by Three Days Grace, Metallica, Breaking Benjamin, Disturbed, Korn, etc....angry music
A few of my fav are:
Lollipop - Framing Hanley
Riot - Three Days Grace
Click Click boom - Saliva
Inside the Fire - Disturbed
I don't care - Apocalyptica
I hate everything about you - Three Days Grace
Master of Puppets - Metallica
Toxic - Britney Spears
Dropkick Murphys!!! An odd mix of hard Irish Punk music (neither of which are normally my style) but it gets me so amped! If you're looking for a song to check out by them I recommend "The State Of Massachusetts" or "I'm Shipping Up To Boston."
i guess i'm kinda weird, but i like to listen to the same album whenever i do the same type of workout. something about the routine of it helps me gauge my progress or something. i dunno. and also i am too lazy to make playlists, so i just listen to albums straight through. if i'm doing a run longer than 4 miles, i listen to of montreal because it's upbeat and i can listen to several albums back to back without having to fuss with the ipod. if i'm doing a shorter run, i either listen to of montreal or switch it up with girl talk's night ripper album. it's all samples and mashups so it really keeps me moving because each segment is really short. it works really well with sprint intervals for me. when i do weights i tend to listen to peter bjorn and john. sometimes i switch it up though.
um, ok i guess i do sound sort of weird. hmm...

Not so weird, I do this too If I'm on one of my long runs I know how well I'm doing depending on how I'm feeling at a certain song. I know how close to the end I am by a particular song.
Ojos Asi - Shakira! Brilliant gym song. It just makes you want to move, for sure
I usually listen to any songs that just make me want to shake my booty haha Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Eat World, Third Eye Blind - my taste is all over the place. As long as it keeps me going though, you'll find it on my iPod
I have a few artists that have a lot of upbeat songs on certain albums that I cycle through: Billy Joel, Michael Jackson, INXS...but lately I've been really giving in to a guilty pleasure and turning to my sexy/dirty pop chics to pull out my inner bad girl...stuff like Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, and Britney Spears...GUILTY AS CHARGED!
If you like Shakira, try Beautiful Liar (a duet with Beyonce) and Hips Don't Lie with Wyclef Jean. My favorite for a perfect running rhythm is Rihanna's Disturbia.
A mixture of new & quite old, as befitting a lady of my advanced years:
New (or new-ish) dance, pop & R&B: "Single Ladies"* by Beyonce, "Poker Face" by Lady GaGa*, "Low" by Flo Rida, "Forever" by Chris Brown, "Crazy," Charles Barkley, "SexyBack," Justin Timberlake, "Four Minutes," Madonna & Justin Timberlake, "Shut Up & Let Me Go,"* Ting Tings
Older classic rock with a driving beat: "Long Train Running" & "China Grove" Doobie Brothers; "Sharp-Dressed Man,"* ZZ Top; "Pride & Joy" & "Cold Shot," Stevie Ray Vaughn; "Just Wanna Make Love to You," Foghat; "Call Me," Blondie; "I Wanna Be Sedated," the Ramones
Very old-school soul, nearly antique ;-): "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone,"* the Temptations, "Theme from 'Shaft'," Isaac Hayes, "Back Stabbers," the O'Jays, "Proud Mary," Ike & Tina Turner
* = Denotes a current obsession which I must hear every day. I tend to play things over & over again, like a kid, till I wear them out utterly.
I listen to pop and hip hop music. Anything from Britney spears and backstreet boys, to 3LW and Shaggy. Its not what I listen to any other time. In normal everyday listening I prefer Christian Alternative, but it just doesnt get me moving like my workout music, my DH has termed my workout time as Teeny Bopper Time. Because I dance around to the music while working out.
