new here

Hi all,

I'm new to the boards with a total of 63 lbs to lose. I have a 4-week-old son so I'm going to need some motivation to stick to a work out routine no matter how sleep deprived I am :dizzy:!

I recently bought the XL Glider which is very similar to the Tony Little Gazelle (which is advertised 24/7) and was wondering if anyone here has had success using this type of equipment? It's very low-impact which I need since I have a bad back.

I tried Tae-Bo last year and never lost a pound , but I *loved* doing it. I may try it again, but it always made my foot cramp...very weird.

Anyway, I'm rambling. Just wanted to introduce myself and ask about anyone's experience with a glider. I look forward to getting to know you all.

I hate to put a damper on your enthusiasm but STOP!

Before you get on that machine or do any other exercise check with your OBGYN that you are cleared for exercise. The time span differs from woman to woman and birth to birth but I would be suprised if you were given the go ahead to do any strenuous exercise only 4 weeks post birth.

You should re-build you exercise levels slowly and according to your OBGYN's advice. You need to give the pelvic floor and rectus abdominus muscles time to heal, and lots of other bits too. If you rush back into any exercise you may heal in a way that wold be derimental to you in later years.

If you can't get the info you need from your nurse come back. I'll try to track down some reputable web sites for you. If you check out your local library they are bound to have books and vidoes on suitable exercises.

I cannot stress how important it is you take care right now.

Slow down, Stef
