Exercise, Sweat & Red faces OH my!

  • Today I did some Step Aerobics in my living room for a good hour, and my heart rate was up, my face was beat red, but I barely sweated. Did I burn calories or not?
  • Yup!
  • Every time you move you burn calories -even if it's just to get up to go to the bathroom or go the front door!

    But step aerobics for an hour could easily burn 500 calories, so that sounds like a great workout!
  • I would say yes, how many varies on how high you got your heart rate.

    My face always gets red when I exercise - I've started running lately so I'm out in public again with the exercise (all my equipment is at home, so I've been the only one to see my red sweaty face for a while) and I can already see the other people giving me funny looks. Like they expect me to drop over dead in front of them or something!

  • I read somewhere that if you don't sweat much it may be that you aren't drinking enough water. Everybody sweats differently, just like not everyone gets a super red face...

    That's what FH said yesterday, but I drank a tone of water both yesterday AND today. I just looks funny and is kind of embarrassing, lol! At least right now I am working out alone at home in my living room. :P
