Yoga kicked my ***!

I bought a yoga dvd yesterday that comes with seven routines of various length and tried one out today morning... whew! I got through ten minutes and then had to skip over to the end. And here I thought it would be a walk in the park, easy routine lol. Who knew?:dizzy:

It does, doesn't it?! :D

Yoga is deceptively hard. I'm fairly strong, and I got a new Rodney Yee DVD and could only make it through about half. You work your way up!

I am shockingly sore after popping in on a class after a hiatus.

And Rodney Yee is amaaaazing!

I was "mistaken" and thought that Yoga would be easy too. Boy was I wrong! I usually even sweat during my Yoga sessions...

Amen. I haven't been in about three weeks due to a huge scrape on my knee (I couldn't put any weight on it) and I'm chicken to go back because I know just how sore I'll feel the next day!

oh and yeah, I sweat like it's 200 degrees during most yoga classes!

I  Rodney Yee too... Amanda which DVD do you have, I have his Yoga Burn DVD, love it, and he's nice eye candy too ....

mandalinn82 01-06-2009 11:58 AM

Ilene, I got Power Yoga Total Body. It starts out easy, and you think, "Oh, I can handle this, it isn't so bad"...but then he just keeps going until there's sweat dripping on the mat.

These are the DVDs I have, the last one is truly a relaxing dvd, Lyne St. Roch is French though...

i'll have to check into this rodney guy because the yoga i do is that stuff on comcast on demand and its nothing for me to do, so maybe he'll be more challengeing.

Check OnDemand. Sometimes they will put some of his sessions under the exercise section :)

The last one I saw there was "AM Yoga for Your Day" or something like that, and it was WAY more moderate than whatever I just got...much easier.

Ilene 01-06-2009 03:31 PM

Here is a You Tub video of Power Yoga Total Body with Rodney Yee .... Check out ALL the scenery ;)

Yeah...yoga is some serious stuff! I have practiced yoga for a few years now...and it urks me when someone who has no experience writes it off as an "easy" workout that doesn't do anything, or assume that it is all stretches.

I remember having never tried Yoga, and thinking it would be a good way to ease into some regular exercising (and it is!), but I even tried the Fat Chicks Yoga DVD (Yoga: Just My Size) and I couldn't believe how some of the tamest moves would wear me down! I still love that DVD, but it was not as easy as I thought it would be.
