metabolism vs exercise problem

Hi all, I'm super-new... I looked around but couldn't find the answer :?:

I'm sorry if my question is too personal, but I'm really confused!

I pulled out all my old tapes, and picked all the fun ones. I started doing 20 mins each of 3 fun tapes a day. So I went from no activity to an hour every morning and a walk before bed.

Day1: amazing, I had high energy, I didn't crave any junk food or soda, I slept really well.

Day 2: great, no cravings, good energy

Day 3-7: (personal, sorry!) I feel like I'm digesting in Technicolor! I don't need to see a doctor, but I'm in the loo before every meal. Is this what metabolism going up is? I'm seriously confused, so I wonder if anyone has any experience with this?

-Thanks a lot

Saabi:)

What you're eating will have more of an effect than the exercise. Exercise will help you be regular ... but tell us what your diet is like and we might be able to offer more advice. :)

hmmm, toast and fruit for breakfast, soup or a cheese sandwich, fruit or cheese, or milk for a snack, and dinner is whatever the family is having.

My diet hasn't changed, although I'm having almost no soda now, just exercising more.

Exercise most definitely has an effect on digestion. It speeds up your digestive system and helps the colon work more efficiently. When I started exercising again it lasted for 3-4 weeks before it calmed down a little. I guess my body got used to it.

I had a very embarrassing moment in college when I decided to start running and thought I could run 2 miles straight on my first try. Let's just say my colon went "overboard" and there was no bathroom in sight, lol. So exercise does have an effect on digestion.

Thanks, I nearly skipped my workout this morning, because I was a little weirded out! Good thing I didn't.

2 or 3 more weeks till my body gets used to it... makes sense.

:D

Saabi, I really credit being regular as part of my success with weightloss. Don't be weirded out by going more unless you think you need to see a medical professional. When I first went to a more "whole foods" diet rather than relying on so many processed "diet" foods, I basically cleaned out my system. I think exercise has an impact on it as well as of course, the fiber in your diet. I also drink 100 oz. of water a day. Yes, I go to the restroom--#1 and #2-- LOTS!
