Question re: Walking Speed
Hi there
Looking for some ideas on why it's now taking me an extra 5 minutes to walk the same route/distance that I have been walking now for months. Would clothes be a factor? During the warmer days I would wear shorts and a tank. With the cooler weather now I am wearing long pants, t shirt and sweater. My stride and pace are exactly the same. Any insight would be appreciated. gail |
If your stride and pace were exactly the same, your speed would be the same, so one of those has changed. Even a very slight variation in the length of your stride or your speed would make a difference over the entire length you're walking.
My guess is that the longer clothes are more constricting, and have therefore decreased your stride length a bit, so each step covers just a bit less distance. Even if your pace stayed the same, this would have an effect. |
Maybe your body has hit a plateau in progress .. or like you said clothes could be a factor.
Do you find you still do the route with the same level of energy? |
