So, i recently started going to the gym everyday...
I have been doing about 20min on the bike and 10-20 min on the treadmill.
My heart rate stays 160-170 range and i'm def sweating... but i'm not sore!
Should i be sore? Am i not pushing myself enough if im not sore?
In general that kind of cardio won't make you sore. Maybe around the legs and hips the first few times, but it doesn't create enough resistance in all your muscles to build strength and create that post-workout soreness/burn that you'd feel if you were doing resistance exercises or lifting weights.
Being sore is a sign that you've pushed yourself too far for what you should be doing - you're body is telling you that it's too much and you should be doing less.
I disagree with this.
Being in PAIN is a sign you've pushed too far. But a good deep muscle soreness only means you have really worked the muscle.
OTOH, you don't need to be sore to make progress. Even with weights and resistance training, eventually you'll become strong enough/fit enough that your average daily workout won't make you feel that same ache that it would when you first started out and your muscles are getting used to the exertion.
