Whey protein and heartburn?
Not sure where to post this question...
I realized I haven't been getting nearly enough protein in my diet, wasn't even when I wasn't exercising every day... Went to the doctor last week and she said exercise = more protein, so making a change...
So, I added in Whey Protein to my morning smoothie. I've been doing fat free yogurt, blueberries, strawberries, bananas, sometimes raspberries, skim milk. I left the base smoothie the same and added in 1/2 scoop of whey protein powder for the last two days and I have had heartburn both days. I've been doing the smoothie for a couple of weeks now with no heartburn, so logic says it must be the whey protein. Anyone else notice this side effect or know of anything I can do to lessen the effect?
