Default "Watts" on the stationary bike?

First off...I don't know if this is a "spin" bike, or a regular bike or what??? I really dont know the difference

This is the machine....

I love using it but really don't know what it is

Also, what does the Watts read-out on the display mean? I've seen internet sites with stationary bike listed in their list of exercises, but the choices they give are things like "Stationary Bike Moderate 100 watts" and "Stationary Bike Vigorous 200 Watts". My machine stays around 40 watts even though I'm busting my @ss. What does that mean? I'm feeling cheated even though I have no clue whats going on
