Snow Shoveling

So we just got dumped on today with snow. Actually it has been snowing like crazy for the past two weeks off and on. But I have to say what a nice winter workout to be able to be outside shoveling the crap! A nice change from my stationary bike.

I enjoy shoveling too - if I don't have to do it every day! You're right, it's a nice change from the routine. It feels good to get some fresh air.

I'll leave the snow to you! I moved from Chicago to San Francisco and the primary reason was because I couldn't take the snow anymore (and the below zero temperatures). I hate :censored: snow. I won't even ski because it involves snow--why would I voluntarily go to a place where it is cold and snowy?

But shoveling snow is definitely a good workout and I'm sure it is a nice break if you've been trapped inside all winter.

Call me crazy Barbara but I love shoveling snow after I've come back from a run :lol3: ... Yea, I AM

You get a lower AND upper body workout :strong:

I agree. This winter I go out and shovel the drive for a couple of hours before I let them use the snow blower to finish it off. What a great way to get the upper and lower body work out done for the day.

OK, Ilene! You're crazy!

I'm in the crazy camp then too. I also love to shovel snow as long as it isn't that sopping wet stuff that sticks to the shovel. I would rather shovel 3 foot of fluff or packed than 2 inches of sticky and wet.

What is even better though is when DH does use the snow blower to pile it all in a big mound for the kids and I to go sledding down. WHEEEEE!!!!!

Huh, snow shoveling...I think the snow is higher than my shoulders in the backyard...It is a good exercise but you must be carefull how you do it without hurting your back. You must flex your knees, not your back.
Personaly, living in Canada made me sick of snow shoveling...
