Exercise advice?

Hi ladies let me start by saying I have a love hate relationship with exercise. I love that it helps me acheive my goals faster than dieting alone but I hate doing it. I have to force myself to do a little everyday.
I'm much better at tricking myself into exersice by putting on some good music and dancing around, playing with my toddler in the floor and wrestling with my honey bunny.

Any who I'll get to the point. I run my own biz from home and I get a lot of phone calls throughout the day, does anyone have any creative ideas as to how I could burn some extra calories while I'm on the phone.

Also does anyone have certain exercises they do while watching t.v?

Thanks in advance.

I do, actually! There is a doctor I have seen on TV a coupla times, and he walks on his treadmill @ about 2 mi. hr. while on his laptop! It would be so cool to do and easier to do from home...don't know if anyone else has seen it, but I would think someone could help you rig it up....you certainly could talk on the phone and walk at 2 mph......I have a cordless phone in my office and often pace the hallway as I talk..but that is nothing compared to burning calories constantly....let us know if you do it!

Wow, that would be cool since a lot of my my work with my biz is also on the computer, unfortunatly I don't have a treadmill.
I could walk in place, lol.

I bought an eliptical machine and a recumbant exercise bike and do that while watching tv. I set it up in the basement. I pick out a good half hour show and by the time its done, so am I. I used to workout to music and find that my miles has not gone down and my heart rate is still where I want it.

I have a friend who swears by the in-home walking DVDs by Leslie Sansone (I THINK I spelled that right!) Maybe you could score a cheap used one at half.com or ebay?

I love to hike outdoors but in the heat spell we've been having I've resorted to the Prevention Dance It Off DVD.....I really enjoy that one! It has 4 different routines (hip hop, jazz, latin, ballet) and once you get them down you can turn the volume off and do them to your own music. They really are a work out!

If you squeezed in half an hour for an exercise DVD and maybe on the phone did some reps with light dumbbells or resistance bands, I think you'd really see results fast!

I think one of the biggest mistakes I've made is making these grandiose exercise plans (gym at 5 a.m.! every day!!) that are too hard to follow....the truth is that working in even a moderate amount of weights and cardio in your own house, if you're consistent, can give you GREAT results!
