Default Best Walking shoes?

I need a new pair of shoes, mine are getting all worn down. What shoes are good? I am wearing New Balance 505 walking shoes, and they help correct your stride so you walk straight. I was just going to buy another pair of these, but they seem to be discontinuing it. Any suggestions? TIA!

Well I'd recommend trying some various ones out at a store. If you like New Balance, maybe try one of their stores.

I actually bought a pair of walking shoes that consumer reports rated as their best buy and I like them a lot. They are the New Balance 557.

Even though they are not "walking" shoes I love my Nike Shox. I´ve had 3 different models but all "shox" and they are great for any activity, including walking!!

I looove New Balance shoes!

My best advice is to go to a running/walking specialty store (e.g. Running Room) and try on a few pairs. Have the salesperson watch your stride barefoot, so they can identify whether you pronate, etc. DON'T go to a general sports store or shoe store, if you can help it - they won't have as much specialised knowledge about foot movement, impact, etc.
