Default treadmill= mph

Hi,
just wanted to ask everyone a question.

I recently bought a new treadmill, And I am not sure how you can tell how accurate the mileage is on them?
At 2.5 mph. it says 1 mile in about 4 min.

Is there a web page that allows one to compare speed x's time = miles?
Hope that makes since.

Sounds like the mph is way off to me! If you're actually going 2.5 miles an hour then it would take 24 minutes to go one of those miles. I'm not sure if you can calibrate them or not. I'd call the manufacturer for some help!

Hi
Thanks for the help.

I have been looking on line for a calculator. Found a few.
http://www.machinehead-software.co.u...time_calc.html

http://www.gazza.co.nz/distance.html

Both of these say that @ 2/5 mph for 30 = 1.25 miles.

I just wanted to verify the mileage on my treadmill. it does appear way off.
but I still can walk, so all is good.
