Need advice re: exercise thigamagig

  • Hey all,

I have an opportunity to get a DP "Trimrider" which is supposed to help tighten the abs and what-have-you. Looks kinda like a stationery bike, but it's one of the older models, I guess (although it looks to be in great shape) with no digital read-outs or anything like that. It says it has an up & down motion along with the pedalling???? I've had some difficulty walking much - my exercise of choice - because of a pinched nerve in my leg that tends to act up after I'm on it steadily for more than ten or fifteen minutes. Since you don't put your weight on your legs with this thing, I thought it might be a good opportunity to get some exercise without a whole lot of pain. Have any of you ever seen/had any experience with one of these? I tried to check them out on the 'net and couldn't find any info at all.

Thanks & have a great OP day!!!

  • I remember when those were popular! I'm not sure why they no longer make them, but maybe that's a sign Are you able to try it out before buying to see if you think you'd use it?

    I did find this picture

  • Hey Suzanne! Thanks for the reply, and the picture really gave me a giggle. My son-in-law owns every state-of-the-art piece of exercise equipment out there today, and most of it gets used pretty much the same as the one in the picture! Someone is selling one on EBay for $65, but there's a local (massachusetts) online auction site that has one where the bidding started at $5 on Saturday, and there have been NO bids, so it's pretty likely that by the time the auction is ending this Saturday, I could probably get it for the $5. Not a great loss if it ends up not being something I'd want to use, but I just thought if anybody had any experience using them, it might help to know their opinion. My guess is that these models just got left in the dust of the new, super-duper deluxe digital (and cook your food, walk the dog) models. Basic would be just fine for me, yanno?

Anyway, thanks...I appreciate the info and giggled my head off at the pic!
