Default Schwinn Biodyne Ergometer exercise bike? It's kinda old. Therefore, how effective?

Someone put a schwinn biodyne ergometer bike out in their yard, with a sign saying, "free, take." So we took it. It's in good condition but it looks old, like from the 80's, but I'm not sure. It's an exercise bike, you just get on it and pedal away. You can adjust it for difficulty (when you do adjust it, it feels like you're pushing against a lot of force). I don't want manly legs, toned legs would be nice... but I want a cardio workout.

So, how do I maximize this bike to its best potential? I'm not sure what it's meant for. Anybody get any info?

To maximize this bike and get it's full potentiall you must use it ... Just kidding, sorry ....

I just Googled a pic and it looks to be a decent bike and all that it may need is a tune up and that's it, it may be old but everything Retro is coming back... Don't be afraid of using the higher intensity, you will NOT get manly legs, that's a myth... It'll give you a more difficult cardio and that's a good thing, it'll burn more calories. In order to get manly you need a high level of testostorone and most women don't have too many of those hormones.

So, my suggestion to you is to clean it up, tune it up and exercise away... Good luck keep us posted on your progress

LOL, you're right, I just need to use it... heh heh! I ask the dumbest questions.

I'm glad to know I won't get manly legs (unless I have too much testosterone, I guess. Oh god, one more thing to worry about!) Thanks for the info about the bike.
