Default Scales at gyms

I'm at university, and I have a set of scales at home but not in my uni halls. I wanted to go and weigh myself in the sports centre, but i'm not sure how reliable the scales will be there, as I used to work in a leisure centre and the scale we had there were about 15 pounds off. Is there anywhere else there would be scales that are reliable?
also, I read that the best time to weigh yourself was in the morning before breakfast, but I'm never at the sports centre that early, so is there a different time anyone can recommend?
thanks, jo

If you want consistancy in accuracy just make sure you weigh in at approx. the same time of the day when you do it.

I know what you mean about the "gym scales"

There is about a 9lb differance between my scale at home and the scale at the Gym.

It kinda bothered me at first...then when i saw them both going down i wasn't so disapointed.
