Murphmitch, that's an excellent idea.
Pookynutt, I'll tell ya how I make my homemade sauce. (You'll probably have leftovers to freeze.)
Get a large can of crushed tomatoes, medium onion (chop it), olive oil, pre-chopped garlic (about a tablespoon or more), onion powder, garlic powder, and basil and oregano (I found all 4 spices & herbs at Dollar General for 50 cent each, but of course your local grocery store carries all of those in the spice section).
Heat a bit of olive oil in a sauce pan, and add chopped onion. Cook until the onions are soft and transcluscent. Next, add the garlic and cook until fragrant (don't let it get all brown, cause then it will be bitter.)
Add the crushed tomatoes to the saucepan and put on a bit lower than medium heat. Add onion and garlic powder to taste, and then both basil and oregano to taste. Don't put too much in all at once, keep tasting until it tastes like the sauce you generally love. Add some salt and pepper to taste, too. If the sauce starts to bubble, turn it down a bit more and let simmer for awhile, or until flavors have combined and it tastes scrumptious.
Soon the house will be smelling like a pizza parlor... seriously.
