p.s. the only pills you have to take are a multi vitamin and flax oil thats it! you don't have to take any fat burners or anything like that and you can buy them from wherever you want you don't neccessary have to get the multi and flax from metabolic

However, in March, I realized that I had spent about one thousand dollars on this diet (not including the sign up fee). Whilst I did lose weight my coffers were empty. Every week I was throwing down a hundred bucks here and a hundred bucks there. True, you could probably get all of their supplements at GNC for 60% of the costs the deed was done. I was so pissed at myself that I spent almost a thousand bucks to loose thirty pounds in four months.

!

count yourself lucky i am two weeks in and i am at 1000.00 already. i am going to have to do something differently. i cant afford this.:(
'

added note, its working though! so i guess its money well spent! i have spent probably 5 x that amount over the years TRYING to lose weight.

The drinks are $50 for 5 packs of 7. I drink 3 a day. I also bought some of their vitamins but I buy others at other places. The ones I have been using from MRC have helped me sleep more soundly and have energy during the day! I am being treated at Mayo for sleep disorder and metabolic problems but feel great since starting.

I was going to spend at least that on new clothes for spring so I consider this a good trade off. I'm beginning to fit into my older clothes again. I know I will be too small for them soon!

Hi! Could you give us an example of your daily eating plan and how many calories you are allotted each day? How much do they want you to work out, etc?

TIA

MRC definitely works, I am 58 years old and I now have a flat stomach after 40 years! I joined on 5/14/09 and by 7/6/09 I lost 15 lbs, between 7/6/09 when I started stabilization I lost another 10 by 8/14/09 and another pound in maintenance. I've stayed the same now for over 2 months and it was easy. I wasn't hungry and I lost fast and healthy. It is pricey but if you don't get sucked into buying all the supplements it is more affordable. The protein supplements are the best though, there's no way you could get that much protein without all the fat and calories of meat, cheese, etc. I highly recommend it.

But I need the accountablity of the weigh ins twice a week. They have all been really helpful and they do try to keep me encouraged and motivated. I will let u know how I do when I weigh in again this week.

I did the MRC program about five years ago. It was the one program that I didn't feel like I was starving on since I was eating frequently following the menus. Every once in a while I would have serious carb cravings on the program. But ultimately I have to say it was the one program I had the most success on...

Needless to say, I have gained almost all of the weight back over the past two years. I dug out my menus yesterday and am starting back on the plan. I would be extremely happy if you could send me the website you found that has the same drinks. I've tried several of the other drinks and the Berry and Lemonaide drinks were my favorite. I've been searching google for about 6 hours over the last two days and I can only find a few of them on ebay. I haven't found a web site that has the same kind.

Very much appreciated! Thanks!

I have been using MRC for three months, I am down 25 pounds, but what I am really excited about is my blood sugar, My A1C was 9.7 three months ago, now it is 6.5 which is considered to be within normal range! My sugar was always over 300 now it is in the 70-120 range all the time. I am still losing, but did gain a little bit during the holidays because I ate off plan. My bad! But I am back on track and the pounds are coming off. It costs money and yes I have bought some of the vitamins, and supplements. I can not tell you how well they work, because I never felt bad, I know when I eat off plan I feel it. I know I really enjoy the drinks, I am trying my hardest to get the water in I am suppose to drink. My son just changed his water intake and has lost 60 pounds so I am pushing myself to get the water. That is a big part of weight loss.

My mom did metabolic and lost about 50 pounds...and it's stayed off for over a year. I just started and quickly dropped 10 pounds. Everyone there is so helpful and friendly and they create an excellent support system. You do not buy food from them, but protein drinks which fill you up and help you to lose more weight quickly.

I have been on MRC since April 1st, I've lost 20 pounds, and I have 20 to go. I feel awesome, and I am learning a new way of eating. I've lost 30 pds 3 times, because I tried to go 'cheap' and once I got to where I wanted to be, I didn't know how to 'maintain.' Unless you do this program and stick to it, get to goal, and go through the maintenance, of course you will gain it back, and of course it won't work. It seems like a lot of money, but I've saved more in alcohol and eating out that I'm not doing, AND, because I don't eat out, my family is eating home more, so it's been really great for all of us. Unless you've gone through the whole program, doesn't seem fair to negatively make claims about their systems and support.

Although pretty $, this was THE ONE diet that got me to the lowest weight in my adult life. I was so happy with the weight loss. The $ didn't really matter because I couldn't put a price on how good I finally felt about myself! However, I was very hungry a lot of the time. That was five years ago, and I kept the majority of 35 pounds off until last fall......working on getting 15 back off. My own fault ...you can only get away with bad eating habits for so long!

Don't Waste Your Money!

I registered for their HCG program in April 2013, Initial cost for 40 days for just the pills & vitamins was $525. It took 2 wks to get my pills and start the diet, but what they don't tell you when you register is that you'll be eating only 750 calories a day on a very restricted diet. I guarantee you would lose the weight doing that without the expensive pills. Then, you need to pick up the protein replacement drinks (3 a day) which is simply gelatin & sugar, but going through a box every two days ($11 a box) it quickly adds up. They tell you that you can get reimbursed by your insurance since it is a 'medically supervised' program, but I have been fighting with them for almost 2 months to provide the proper documentation for my insurance. The clinic I attend could not provide the itemized bill with doctor name/address/professional title (which I found suspicious) and sent me to the corporate office to get it. They also have had issues giving me the proper paperwork. I also noticed that the doctor listed on my HCG prescription is someone I have never met and it came from a pharmacy in south Florida where they are know for their 'pill mills'. I lost 15 pounds in 5 weeks, but have since lost another 10 on mine own, simply by reducing calories, eliminating carbs and hitting the gym 3-5 times a week. Don't waste your money with these frauds.

I just joined yesterday and I am super excited. Although I am disappointed by some of the comments on here, I think its a good pro gram and have heard a lot of good feed back. My program is only $20ish a week/$498 for 6month. I didn't have to buy any other supplememtsor drinks.I've done the Ideal Protein Diet and that was $100 a week! So comparativly this is cheap. The staff seemed nice and I like how they offer sociel activities! Good luck!

My cousin joined this like 6 years ago. She lost a ton of weight and looked great, I was jealous. But she needed to because she weighed more than I and was shorter. However, she became pregnant. Gained it all back and then some. Since she has no money to spend like that she's doing it by herself which is proving to be not as fast as MRC.

I had my consultation last Thursday, so I haven't been to the food orientation yet. I've just been eating from the list of foods they gave me and I've been taking a multi vitamin, krill oil and the corti-slim I purchased from them. I have lost 5 lbs of whatever. I'm drinking tons of water, but I always do that anyway. I plan to stick to it. I started with 45 lbs to lose and they gave me a target date of Jan. 4th. They want you in ketosis which pretty much explains the rapid loss in the beginning, but this does help control the appetite. I think this will do the trick. Having to check in and get weighed is a good motivator for me. I need the support while I retrain myself to learn control.
