Default Juice Plus

Is anyone taking juice plus as a supplement (not selling it)?
With the MLM aside, I wonder if the product is any good? Not to take in place of eating healthy but as an added extra.

The general rule of thumb regarding MLM products is as follows:
  • They're WAY overpriced;
  • They're WAY overhyped; and
  • The marketers/distributors tout them as something new and earthshattering; while identical products can be purchased in regular stores often at a fraction of the 'special' MLM price.

Here's one article regarding the product:

Juice Plus+® doesn't live up to claims

If that isn't authoritative enough for you, how about this summary from the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York?

Here's a small quote from the Sloan-Kettering site...

Quote:
While it is true that nutritional supplementation is important in maintaining health in many segments of the population, particularly the elderly, none of the scientific studies undertaken have sought to prove that Juice Plus+® is more effective or more bioavailable than other supplements. In addition, no studies exist to compare the physiologic effects of supplementation with Juice Plus+® and eating whole fresh fruits and vegetables. Juice Plus+® is distributed through a multi-tiered marketing scheme with exaggerated value and cost.
Here's another article from Kansas State University's website.

In other words...save your $$...Juice Plus is your classic overhyped, overpriced MLM product.

^^ What she^^ said :/

You'd be better off simply eating a few teaspoons of fruits and veggies daily rather than swallowing small capsules of them.

I tried them and they made me light headed and weak feeling. My husband has been on them, and has gained weight, tired and just fell into a habit of taking them. I took them away and now he feels better and has more energy... wierd huh?
