A friend and I were discussing if there are any plans on the internet..that you have to log into to EVERY day to get a new step. He says no and I say I am sure they are out there. So does anyone know of any sites that offer this.
You would have to visit each and every day for new information. I figure someone here would know of one! Help me win the bet. (He thinks its a new idea)
I think that part of the problem of have a program where one can only see that day's menu is that it would pretty much force one to go to the store everyday. Unless the program also included a weekly shopping list to go with it.
During last year's National Body Challenge, Discovery Health had something like that - but weekly, not daily. (It was free during the Challenge but afterwards it went to a pay system).
Like Tealeaf said though, unless you were motivated to shop every single day, it's pretty impractical. Besides, part of learning to eat right is learning to PLAN AHEAD - I just don't see how getting one menu a day would help in that respect.
Maybe what was meant was getting a 'tip of the day'? Each day you'd get a new 'tip'?
It has to be a day by day program..not weekly. I am looking for a course that offers one day at a time and you CANT see the next till 24 hours has past..He says its not out there.
I think it is ..but where?
I am not talking about meal plans.I am talking about the instruction part..ie Step 1..would have a bunch of info..then you would wait 24 hours and go on to step 2..NOT MEALS..more behavior.
Of all of us..there has to be someone here who did a diet plan or other type of plan that gave info in increments like 24 hours ?
Does it bite anyone elses butt besides mine that the above mentioned plans
take advantage of those of us who are over weight and looking for help? Most of us are a desparate bunch...we seek all the info that we can muster to try and I mean try to lose just a little of the poundage that we've managed to put on our bodies.
I know that I've bought every book that hits the market looking for the perfect plan.
I'm sorry to ramble, but I'm TIRED of being taken advantage of.
Oh Orange you sound down...I tell you what worked for me was a combination of things but one of them was using calorie king which is in my opinion eons easier than using fitday.
Anyway...once I got that I really saw what I was doing wrong..plus I decreased my sugar intake (otherwise I lose it) and I substituted popcorn for chips, that type of thing.ala VOLUMETRICS.VOILA! It works..I eat ALOT of high volume low cal healthy food with junk thrown in!
Yes Volumetrics is outstanding! Simple and makes sense. I made some easy substitutions..(no depriviation here) I eat volume rich veggies and fruit and soups..
So for example if I want pizza..I will have a salad and a slice and a lower cal dressing on the salad.
I eat more wraps that are filled with veggies..I eat more veggie style soups..I eat popcorn instead of chips..indulge in lower but delicious choc. deserts.
I lost 5 pounds at the start and then another 5.
and it was truly easy..(except for all the veggie chopping) I buy a veggie tray each week.
Then I added in Calorie King to get a better handle on what I am eating. Had chocolate thunder 1/2 of one the other night..who would have thunk its 1600 calories! so I ate 800 in my half. I thought I was calorie savy but wow! this opened my eyes...
so I log and if I am heavy one day I am light the next..
Then for exercise I added in YOURSELF FITNESS..a personal trainer on my playstation.Outstanding.
I am down just 10 pounds and its slow because I do indulge! But eventually I will get there.and this is how.
this may be a little off topic, but if we are talking about online calorie counters that help with diets, Nutrition Data.com is a really good resource that i use often. It has a "better choices" diet that is a self-guided plan, and i think some other things that are interesting. If you have a bit of time to spare, i strongly suggest that you check it out.
Oh you do Yourself Fitness also? Wow, ANOTHER thing I am interested in. I should just follow you around 3FC and I'll get all my questions answered! I bought a copy to review for the site, but it's smothering in it's plastic wrap on my desk. So how do you like it?
I love it! I cannot believe how amazing it is. It has transformed my exercise. The thought of disappointing my "trainer" is hard to take. Plus in the past I have tended to focus on say cardio or weights. She makes sure I take the full 3 prong approach with weight training, flexibility and cardio. And I tend to avoid lower body workouts..since I have skinny legs and feel I dont need it..but she makes me do them and makes me do all the other stuff I should be doing.
AWESOME PROGRAM!
BTW I had tried Slim In 6 before that and though I think Seibers is good..the boredom drove me nuts..by week 5 with only 1 week to go I just couldnt do it one more day.
Thankfully I sold it and the slim series and used the bucks to buy YOURSELF and a new heart rate monitor ! NEVER HAVE TO FACE THE DEBSTER AGAIN!
When I was on ediets (a long time ago) there was some sort of behavioral program that went along with it. You could only unlock the next lesson every 3 days or so.
I didn't find it very helpful, but that is the closest thing I have seen to what you are looking for.
