Gazelle Edge (elliptical...kinda)

I've been doing a bit of online shopping for an elliptical. I was pretty much sold on one with great ratings for a decent price when I came across this Gazelle thing for $100 less with surprisingly good ratings.

Anyone used it? What do you think?

Dont go through with it. Its a waste of money. You are better off walking in place.

How about a treadmill?

I picked one up on ebay for a bargain price & so on days when the weather is really bad & I can't get out walking I use the treadmill, plus on days when before I know it its time to put the kids to bed & I have not been out I then use the treadmill.

Mine is in our bedroom & I put one of my trashy tv shows on & get moving. :D

The Gazelle can be a good way for beginners to get started. They are also good for some people with limited mobility or who need zero impact exercise. However, many people comment that they outgrow them fairly quickly. Some models include hydraulic resistance cylinders so they offer a little more growing room.

A regular elliptical would offer more resistance and a better workout for most people. A treadmill is also a good option, especially it if has an adjustable incline.

Thanks! I get bored with treadmills unless I do interval training, and I've recently gained about 35lbs since the last time I did that, my knees just can't take it. I really hate ellipticals, they kick my butt, but that's what I need! All the reviews I read (which weren't on the informercial btw) made it sound fun and like it did the trick, saying the woke up with sore muscles the next day. O well...off to buy the ellitpical :/
