I'm always weary of quick, get thin diets that you eat a certain food or drink a certain drink (Cookie Diet, Slim Fast, etc.)
I haven't heard of the muffin diet but I think anything that prevents you from eating a balanced diet of lean protein, complex carbs, & healthy fats is NOT a good idea.

There are so many options that offer a balanced diet. Personally, I follow the eat-clean diet lifestyle where I eat only clean, unprocessed foods and I've never felt better! (Even though I've lost only 6lbs so far, I look and feel so much better!)
A quick fix is not what any of us need! Slow & steady :)
(Sorry if this turned into a rant, I just hate to see when people waste time & money on stuff like this, we should be doing this the healthy way!!)

I've never heard of the muffin diet, but I DO like blueberry muffins! haha! I'm pretty sure my weight would never come off if I stick to eating blueberry muffins only!

I'm going to venture to guess that-eating muffins all day isn't the strategy of the "muffin diet"

My husband and I want to get on board with a diet plan....we've got the Subway Diet and now the Taco Bell Diet...we want to do the Snicker Bar Diet, where all we eat in a day are Snicker Bars.

I think you COULD lose weight eating muffins, if that's all you ate, as long as you burned more calories than you took in. For that matter you could probably lose weight eating ANYTHING, in theory. But I'd imagine you'd be pretty hungry.

The Taco Bell Diet just makes me shudder. Anything really where you only take your calories into account makes shudder! Not every calorie is equal, some come from fat, and some are healthier than others. We need to look at the other numbers on the nutrition label. If something has only 100 calories and claims to be Awesomely-healthy, but yet the Sodium levels top over 900mg....IT'S NOT HEALTHY!!!

This is why I think I never had any success on Weight Watchers or Calorie Counting, now I read labels. That's my diet when I tell people! lol!

The Taco Bell diet is a gimmick with a big wink by Taco Bell. If you actually go in, there's a sign that explains that this woman took two years to lose weight and ate all kinds of food. The Subway diet is scary because of the sodium content in their food. I can't imagine eating only Subway because of the sodium you'd have to drink 12 glasses of water a day just to flush your system.

I haven't heard of a muffin diet, but I do make a great 1 point/175 calorie muffin that is a great breakfast treat.

It's easy.
One box of carrot or spice cake.
1 15 ounce can of pumpkin (not the pie stuff, regular pumpkin)
Mix together until batter is moist.

Divide as evenly as possible into 12 muffin tins and bake at 325 for 20 minutes.

Check with toothpick. Muffins are done when toothpick comes out clean.

My roommate loves them and with using the pumpkin instead of the oil and egg, you get a great source of Vitamin A which a lot of us lack and some protein. It's also cholesterol free.

It does have sugars, but if you don't get sugars at any other time during the day, you're still very low.

its called Vitatops. They are very good. just started on them.Found them in the freezer department at Krogers. I eat one for a meal replacement plus a snack and eat one real meal a day.

nelie 02-13-2010 11:20 AM

Umm... Vitatops are not a meal replacement. At 100 calories each, you are eating 300 calories + 1 meal? I think it'd make more sense to spread your calories out and unless that 1 meal is fairly significant, you may be eating too few calories.

Yet another diet I can't do because of my glucose issues, lol.

I wouldn't think missing out on a diet of 24/7 muffins would be much of a loss.

Trust me, that was partially posted with an "oh, thank god!" in it.
